ds falls asleep like a champ for bedtime and naps... but has been waking more at night to eat.
I'm not sure why. he is 21 1/2 lbs at 6 months and ebf (just started cereal this week) he used to go 7-87 hours but last night our longest strech was 3? wtf?
Re: did you ferbver to drop night feedings
Night feedings were the exact reason we did CIO. It worked great. We decided to do one feeding a night, so anything before 2am he CIO's. After 2am (I'm somewhat flexible on this) he can have a bottle when he wakes. He usually only wakes once a night for his bottle. Sometimes he'll make little peeps throughout the night, but rarely do we have to let him cry anymore.
He's been sick and I've been wanting to keep him hydrated, so last night he had 3 night feedings. I'll be interested to see if we have to start all over again tonight.
What time is the last time he eats before bed? I am looking to start this as well but I don't want to be unrealistic about how long I should expect her to go without eating - thanks

This is happening to us as well and it's making me crazy. I've been thinking about dropping his first night feeding (usually around 11 pm) but how can you tell if he's really hungry or not? I'd know we might need to let him cry while making the transition, but I'd hate to have him crying if he truly is hungry. His last feed is at 8:45/9 so he should be able to go well past 11 pm.
We did Ferber for night feedings and it worked great. There were 2 bad nights where he whimpered on and off for 1.5 hours (we did interval check ins) and from there after he STTN. From what I've read, the goal is to help him adjust to taking in more calories during the day so he doesn't need them at night, and what my dr. said was at DS' size, he didn't need to eat round the clock - he was waking from habit.
This past week, he had the runs so he'd wake at 3 am to poop, and I'd feed him (EBF) and he'd go back to sleep. He's over his sickness and went back to STTN last night. (I hope I just didn't jinx it.)
I have noticed DS is happier after a full night's sleep, and I finally feel human again. It's hard, and it breaks your heart, but DH and I agree it was one of the best moves we've made for everyone's sanity.
We do bottle and bed at 6:30pm. I wanted to encourage a big first stretch of sleep. We started with 1am and recently tried to push him until 2 because he wasn't taking much of the bottle at 1am. I think we're getting closer and closer to him not needing it at all, but I plan to keep giving him this bottle until he weans himself off of it.
