QOTW: Give
us an update! Mommies - what are your LO's newest tricks? Pregnant
ladies - what's going on in your pregnancy? TTC ladies - where is your
head - excited, impatient, frustrated?
And a heads up: Next
week I want pictures! If you're up for it, I think it would be fun to
post a picture of your LO, your bump, your dog, your cat or whatever
else you want! Get ready!!
Update on DS: our little man has been sitting up like a champ and learning to eat more solid foods - it's so scary and fun all at the same time!
Also, he's moving rooms at daycare, which we're so sad about - we love his current set of teachers! He's moving from the little people class (babies who lie down/do tummy time/sit in bouncers) to the room full of crawlers at the beginning of next month! From what I've heard, either he'll learn to crawl by then or he'll be crawling within a couple weeks of switching. I'm not sure I'm ready for that!
Update on me: I'll probably be joining the TTC list later this summer - should have added that to my bucket list last week, but I'll make it an update instead!
Update on DS: He turned a year yesterday! (I'm still in disbelief). We had his bday party Sunday. He's walking and his most recent new trick is eating with a fork and FINALLY sleeping through the night. I thought he wasn't going to STTN till he went to college
My 18 months kiddo is now learning to sing. It's way cute. Especially since he sings on cue. He also makes up songs using one word. My 3 year old is working on recognizing his numbers.

He's coming up on 3 months next week and I can't believe how fast it has flown by. He doesn't have too many tricks up his sleeve yet. However, this past week he has been laughing so much. We've been able to get social smiles out of him for a while now, but its the first time that he's having audible laughs and its just the cutest thing! So thats pretty big for us. We're working on tummy time and trying to get a roll out of him, so hopefully that comes soon. He'll also have his first plane ride next week. That should be interesting...
I'm happy to see the board getting a bit livelier!
Update on pregnancy -I'm def. getting big... and I'm finally starting to feel pregnant (at 26 weeks, it's about time!). And today my hands are swollen and I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable -I'm hoping it's just b/c of the sodium in my dinner last night (I had ramen noodles) and not the norm... hopefully the rest of this pregnancy goes smoothly!
Hi! Update on dd : She's 11 months 1 week, crawling and getting into everything. She's getting braver and standing on her own for longer periods of time, walking around the room either with the help of furniture or pushing something, will walk holding on to just 1 finger of mine or dh. She says "hi" constantly! Started last Thursday and that is all I've heard since "hi hi hi hi hi hi hi" even at 3 am if she wakes up for a minute, I hear a very quiet "hi" over the monitor. Her reaction is great when somebody says "hi" back to her. She's starting to work on "bye" it sounds smililar to "beebay" but if you say 'were going to go now' she waves and says 'beebay'. She has 2 teeth on the bottom and the top ones are every so slowly starting to make the gums swell a bit.
My little ones newest trick is clapping. I was playing Wii on sunday with my older dd and the little one started clapping. Yesterday she was clapping in between bites of food in her high chair. She has been letting go and trying to stand on her own. My older dd is getting ready for her 1st band concert and trying to figure out what she wants to do for her big double digit birthday!
I'm all for doing pictures if someone can let me know how to post one. I've never done it before.
We got back from a vacation in Mexico earlier this week, and DS did fantastic on the plane and the whole trip! I was so impressed (and relieved). I flew with him last year at this time, but he was only a few months old at that time. This time around he's a mobile toddler, so I was nervous what he might have in store for us. Either we got very lucky, or he's just an awesome traveler
Other updates on DS is that he's now walking 100% of the time and he learned to do baby sign language for the words "all done", "more", and "open." DS receives speech therapy, and our therapist recommended we try baby sign language with him, and so far it's been working really well!
I'm Nina, and I'm usually over on 12-24. My DD is Nora, 15 months. We live in Winnetka, but I work in the city (north side). She's running, putting two and three words together, and learning how to perform epic temper tantrums. We're going to the Navy Pier childrens' museum tomorrow with my SIL and 11-month old nephew tomorrow. I'll let you guys know if it's worth it or not!

QOTW: Give us an update! Pregnant ladies - what's going on in your pregnancy?
Not a heck of a whole lot is going on in my pregnancy. I've had it pretty easy this whole time with no m/s or any crazy symptoms. Only thing I'm suffering from is hip joint pain but I'm icing it and hoping to reduce the inflamation. We're in the process of finishing the nursery, picking a name for our baby boy and just preparing our lives to be completely changed once he gets here. Can't believe I'm almost 26 weeks...where has the time gone?!

It's actually quite amusing at times. I don't know why, but angry toddlers crack me up. Maybe because the cause of the tanrums are usually stupid. DD's latest tantrum had to do with the fact that I wouldn't let her take my long necklace to bed. She was playing with it, wearing it, which I don't mind, but obviously, I won't let her wear it to bed. She got PISSED. I had to hold my laughter back. I'm mean:)
DD tried a sippy cup for the first time this week! She hasn't really done much with it since and tends to just bat it away, but it was still fun to try! She is much more stable sitting up, but still tips over a lot. And no signs of crawling yet...
We'll officially be on the TTC list in April (just had our consult this morning, actually)... of course, we're TTC right now by default with no protection, but seeing as it took us 2 years and IVF to conceive DD, we don't have a lot of hope in nature! :-)
Brought to you by IVF, ICSI, limited fert, and oocyte cryopreservation. Because we're fancy like that.
I'm 9 weeks pregnant, had my first ultrasound last weekend, and am currently loving walking by my fridge, where I hung up the ultrasound picture! It reminds me that.. holy crap, this is real!
Sleeping is not working for me at all lately. I was up probably 7 different times last night and feel so exhausted but just cannot sleep! I know that sleeping is only going to get worse so it makes me angry that I'm having trouble already, when I don't even have a belly to show for it! Other than that, I'm feeling great so I shouldn't complain too much
QOTW: Pregnant
ladies - what's going on in your pregnancy?
Hey Ladies! The craziest thing going on with me lately is all the nose-bleeds I've been getting. I get them like 2-3 times a week, sometimes more, they're usually in the morning when i first blow my nose or they'll wake me up in the middle of the night.
We have a humidifier in our room, but my nose is still really dry in the morning.
We get to find out what we're having on Feb 2nd, so we're looking forward to that.
I'm almost 27 weeks and starting to feel big almost all of the time now. My stomach has less room, so I can't eat as much as before. Baby has been moving around like crazy (including right now!), which is a lot of fun. DH just did the first coat of paint in the nursery last night and the furniture arrives on Saturday. I'm excited to put it all together and see how it looks. We're still debating names. Pretty sure we have a girl name, but boy name is still up in the air (we're Team Green).

Ok, so I am one of the few in the TTC boat. We have just started TTC, and I haven't become hard-core about it yet. We just go sans-protection sometimes. I feel as though it is important to not be lost on the topic, if there is any chance at all. I am extremely nervous about the right time for taking this step concerning my health (T1 Diabetic) and our situation (husband is a resident, and we just moved very far away from family for the position), and I am trying to gain positivity. I hear that there is no perfect time, but this kills me. I NEED A PLAN!
BFP #1- 01/16/11
Missed miscarriage 02/14
Cytotec followed by D&C 02/18
BFP #2- 07/14/11
Missed miscarriage 08/12/11
Awaiting my D&C and subsequent testing
Well things are going well. Being a petite woman, I am starting to show a bit and finding myself not liking getting dressed in the morning. Finding the transition to getting bigger one of the hardest things just as I don't know what it looks like on my body so it just looks a bit foreign. Other than that, I am feeling well and in the next few weeks signing up for a prenatal yoga and aqua aerobics class. until then just hitting the gym as many days as I can.

My name is Lisa, I have a DD born October 12, 2010. We live in the South Loop.
I cannot believe DD is 3 months old! She started rolling over from belly to back the other week but it is not consistent yet. She does seem to want to sit up, last night as I had her on my knees she kept bringing her head up as I was laying her back down. So we will be working on rolling over and sitting up this weekend! Next week she also starts daycare! Hopefully that goes well!

We have landed into the terrible 2s a bit early. DS learned to say the word "no" so even when he is doing what I asked him to do he says "no" it is pretty funny. We also have the a lot of tantrums which can try a Mama's patience but I guess this is toddlerhood.
Spencer is a contant roller. He will be 6 months on the 26! Diaper changes have become just short of a wrestling match. He's such a happy baby, the kid wakes up smiling.
14 yr old:
Kinie's third quarter has ended, she's been pretty quiet with Report Card day coming up. DumDum Dummmmm. She's been doing really well her freshman year, but she always freaks out when its progress report time.
5 yr old:
Sterling is having a hard time balancing school work and his friends. He's the "popular" kid and is a little to chatty sometimes. He does well in class we just have to work on "quiet time"
Update on DS- Lots of smiles and laughing. He also started sitting in the bumbo this week which he loves. His neck muscles keep getting stronger and stronger. I also started washing his 3-6 months clothes yesterday. Sigh.............where does the time go? My little man is growing too fast!
After many years and tears our baby boy is finally here
Hi! I'd love to join this check-in. I have a DS born 2/26/09, and we just moved to Chicago from the east coast a few months ago. We live in the city, specifically in Roscoe Village.
My DH and I have started ttc #2 a few months ago, and we hope to be pregnant soon. I'm a little frustrated, just because I have very irregular long cycles which, of course, makes ttc more difficult. I went off the pill over a year ago and only had a few periods this past year. I'm currently on Provera to induce AF and will be taking Clomid soon after.
Nice to meet everyone!

I am pregnant and due with DD on 3/31/11. I live in the city- Wicker Park specifically.
DH and I are working on the nursery and finalizing the name choice- big step. Been feeling great during the day, but I have horrible back pain at night and trouble sleeping. I guess I'm getting good practice at getting less sleep!

Hi Chicago Moms!
DS just had his one year check up and started climbing on things as of that visit. So things should be very interesting from here on out!!
