I googled "natural ways to induce labor" after reading another conversation on here this morning and came across an article that started with this:
"When a pregnant PlainsIndian woman was near term and showed no sign of going into labor, tribemembers would tie her to a rock in an open field and stage a mock"attack," pulling up their horses only at the very last minute, inhopes of inducing labor. The Pilgrims, for their part, would stand womenwhose babies were late against a pole, strap them to it, and pound the pole upand down against the ground -- apparently hoping to shake the babyloose."
Anyone going to these extremes yet??
BTW, the rest of the article goes on to say the normal stuff; have sex, take a walk but, mostly, just be patient.

Re: Labor Inducing Truths/Myths
Seriously!
I'd love to know how it goes. I've never had accupuncture, either, but I'd be willing to try.
DH accidentally scared me the other day - he was where i didn't expect him to be - and I did for a second think the baby was going to drop out right there on the floor. Maybe the mock attack wasn't so far off...
As for trying to shake the baby out, well that's just silly.
