Trouble TTC

Long time Lurker... First time posting (intro) & femara ?

Hello to all...I feel like I need to thank you all for helping me obtain my "google doctrate!'  (what i jokingly call all the info I have obtained from lurking)

I am 28 years old and have been trying to conceive since May 2009.  My diagnosis besides endometriosis is unexplained fertility.

In spring of 2010, my endometriosis was discovered and I had a lap in July 2010.   That same cycle I had a failed IUI.

Since then, I've had 4 unsuccessful and unresponsive clomid cycles and am currently trying femara for the first time. Today is CD 7 and I go for monitoring on CD 12.  My Dr. would like to move to injectables, but I am not quite ready...(I have had a trigger shot, but that is the extent of injections?

My DH and I have decided that if we are not PG by summer we will give the injectables a try.

My question is: Has anyone had success with Femara after none with clomid?

 Thanks in advance!

  • Welcome and good luck!

Although I didn't get KU on Femara, I did ovulate for the 1st time in over a year on it.  My Dr also wanted to move me to injectibles.  I just couldn't wrap my head around it at the time.  I'm glad I tried Femara and hope to do another cycle or 2 on it.

  • Welcome to the board, and congrats on your first post! I had no response on Clomid, but I never tried Femara, I went straight to injectables. The injectables consist of shots on a daily basis, and sometimes multiple shots daily, depending on your situation, and your plan. I still didn't respond to my first two cycles of injectables. I hope your stay here is short, and ends in a beautiful baby!
  • Hi and welcome! I just wanted to say good luck! I can't answer your question, but I'm also going to be trying Femara on my next IUI cycle-

After 2 1/2 years TTC, 3 IUI's, endo, and a lap, a surprise BFP brought us Alexandra Marie!
