first pregnancy question

This is my first pregnancy so I dont have anything to compare it to.  I am a little over 12 weeks but I dont feel pregnant.  I had a little nausea in the beginning and now it doesn't happen anymore, which is good.  Is this "normal" not to feel pregnant?  Should I be concerned?

Re: first pregnancy question

  • I am over 12 weeks myself. I have had very little MS and I am not complaining. I have not vomited and get slight waves of nausea. Sometimes I didnt feel pregnant and I even tap my stomach here and there to see if it feels hard. I totally get your concern. You are probably fine. I have read that many women are lucky enough to have slight of no MS. Are your breasts sore? When is your first Ultra Sound?

  • Some say little to no morning sickness is a sign you're having a boy... :) Probably totally an old wives tale, but I thought it was fun to think about these things early on.

  • That is fairly common.  I had minimal morning sickness early on and often found myself worrying that I didn't feel pregnant enough.

I certainly felt more pregnant by about 19/20 weeks when I started to feel her move.  Around 24 weeks I was REALLY showing so that helped too and I think that's about the same time the heartburn kicked in ( fyi - the only thing that worked to soothe my heartburn was a daily bowl of ice cream!).  Of course,  I got to my last month and would get crazy spurts of energy when I totally forgot that I was pregnant (until I bumped into a table or something because I couldn't see it was so close because my tummy ws so big.

Be thankful that you're feeling so good.  I hope that continues throughout your pregnancy.
