We painted our son's room in two shades of blue. Then we had a large tree mural with birds (found in our area) painted on the wall. I made a bird mural from paper and fishing line. Simple windows and crib sheets. That was it, but so sweet and simple and pretty.

I love these two beautiful children!
Our little boy's nursery is "Pond Friends", colors are blue, green and brown and we have frogs, caterpillers, dragonflies, and turtles around the room.
We're doing a dragons/castle theme. One wall will be painted like a stone castle wall, then the rest of the walls will have stone around the bottom like a balcony and shades of blue from light to dark (day to nighttime sky) with clouds, sun, moon, and stars. Then we bought prints from an artist I found online: https://www.lisavictoria.net
When it's all said and done, what matters most is your relationships with other people; without good friends and family, what's the point?

We are painting clouds on the walls (this weekend!), and we have a moon/stars overhead light. We registered for a pirate ship themed set, but I don't really feel strongly attached to any themes... I just want it to be a comfy, cozy, peaceful space.
We're doing a safari/jungle theme. We painted the room blue, bought a large decal from etsy for over the crib and I'm accessorizing with various jungle themed items. I bought a few stuffed animals for the shelves, my mom is making a needlepoint with lions, monkeys and giraffes and I'm adding some cute animals found at Michaels to his wall letters. Once everything is up I'll see if I need to get anything else to pull the theme together, but I kept it simple. As for bedding, I just bought crib sheets and am making a crib skirt out of fabric I liked (it's striped - nothing to do with the theme at all).

I didn't do a object/character theme. I just went with a color them of cream, brown and light green (like a seafoam green). So my bedding and extras are all in that color schematic.
