I need ya'lls thoughts on this. I was on the pill for a long time (7 years roughly) and first went on it to help regulate my period. They were very regular, like clockwork really, but when I went off the pill in July I stopped having periods. My doctor had me wait 3 months and then I saw her in October for blood tests. They ran all kinds of tests and they were all normal. No one ever mentioned PCOS and she doesn't think that's it, although I haven't had an ultrasound yet. She put me on Provera and I got my period shortly after taking that. I took Provera again in November and have been without a period since the beginning of December. I am frustrated with this. My doctor seems to think it's from being on the pill so long. Obviously everyone reacts differently to going off the pill, but I am having a hard time buying that. She wants me to call at the end of January to let them know whether or not I have started and if not, I will go on Provera again. I'm going to TRY not to call. I want my body to regulate itself so I can eventually ovulate and get pregnant.
Has anyone else dealt with something similar? Advice? HELP!
Re: VERY irregular periods after the pill, please help!

Baby N conceived after 1 miscarriage and more than 2 years of TTC. Diagnosis was low sperm count. We found success after 3 months of anastrozole to increase DH's testosterone and one IUI.

i think you need to find a new dr. STAT! if you went on the pill to regulate your periods in the first place, then they aren't magically going to be normal now. the pill doesn't change your body long term, only while you are on them. it could take some time but not over 6 months. it sounds like PCOS to me.
i went on the pill at 18 to regulate my periods since they were never regular. 10 years later i went off and started TTCing. I have had PCOS that whole time but when i was 18, all i wanted was a predictable cycle so it wasn't discovered. i wish someone had told me that having 2 periods a year could be a problem back then so it wasn't such a shock when i was thinking about babies.
try a second opinion so you won't be wasting time waiting. Good Luck!
