Obviously certain names lend themselves toward certain ethnicities. Recently I mentioned the name 'Marcus' to a friend who said they thought it was more of an African-American name. I hadn't really thought of it that way - what do you ladies think? We're trying to pick a name that isn't really 'ethnic' in any way - Dh is from South America & wanted to pick something more 'American'.
please - no flames! just looking for some honest opinions. I'm probably over-analyzing this - I'm having such a hard time picking a name!!
Re: The name Marcus...
Actually, Marcus is Roman. Think Marcus Anthony or the character from the Gladiator. We just discussed this name yesterday...

thanks for posting this - good ideas on there! I know it's Roman - just wondering what comes to thought when you hear this name..
That's one of the great things about this name. Despite having Roman roots, it's so easily accessible and really transends any stereotype or place of origin for me.
