Stupid, stupid me.
I'm a substitute teacher, and this job was scheduled last month (which is the reason I forgot about it). 15 minutes after I'm supposed to be there, the secretary calls me and is like, "Uh, where are you?"
Of course I live all the way across town from this school. And I was sitting in my pj's still, bumping and watching crap TV, not ready to go at ALL. I'm so mad at myself right now.

Re: I forgot to go to work today.
OOPS. Does this screw up your chances of getting future jobs in this district?
Lately I've been having trouble remembering DD's orthodontic appts. I've missed two of the last 4.
I started writing the appts on post it notes on the calendar so in the morning I can pull it off and put it on my steering wheel or work computer. We'll see if it works.
No, they were extremely understanding. I only missed part of first period because today was a late start day. I sub here often and the secretary knows I'm always early, prepared, etc. There was another teacher who covered for me until I got there.
But still, I can't figure out HOW I spaced this. Really out of character for me.
Good luck with the post-it idea!
When I read the title of your post- I was thinking "how does that happen?!?!"
But my DH subbed in several different districts last year and I know how complicated it can get and totally understand.
Glad the school was understanding.
