BFN this morning 14dpiui. I usually don't test, but I figured at least I could cry in my own bathroom instead of waiting for AF to arrive while I'm at work. I'm so disappointed, I really had my hopes up this cycle after all the craziness I went through having the IUI. And DH is a CPA, so schedling the next one this time of year will be crazy. But enough of my pity party...
My OB said she would do 3 or 4 iui's and if they didn't work, refer me to a Fert.specialist. I'm just wondering do you usually need more tests prior to moving on to IVF? I've only had b/w, u/s HSG, and SA for DH. Would I need a Lap? I'm unexplained. I don't know if I should do the remaining 2 iui's w/ my doc, or take the referral to the specialist and see what they think. I guess I'm starting to worry that I'm wasting my time since she continuously says everything looks "perfect" but nothing is working.
I realized that if I had gotten pg my first month off bcp (like the rest of the world seems to) I'd have a 15 mo right now & probably would be trying for #2, & that hit me like a ton of bricks.

I'm so sorry about your BFN Andrea
I hear you about testing so you don't cry at work, I did the same thing last cycle. I took a test before my blood test so that when the nurse called, I wasn't bawling in the middle of the day.
I'd honestly move on to an RE right now. I just feel like they have a lot more experience with IUIs in terms of timing, monitoring, changing your meds, etc. While OBs may do those, it is the RE's sole job to get you pregnant. That's what they do. OBs do the pregnant thing on the side, while doing so many other things. GL in whatever you decide.

Have you already spoken to an RE about their monitoring schedule? Some REs use that schedule. My RE monitors me on CD10, then depending on where I am, may do an u/s and b/w every day or every other day. So last cycle I went in on CD10, I was close, so I went in on CD11 and I was surging, so I did IUI on CD12. Obviously, things are a little different with a trigger, but the extra monitoring helps time your ovulation better. I can't guarantee that your RE would do that, but I think it's at least worth a second look, especially if you are OOP either way.
I'm sorry to hear about your BFN. Usually most REs will try one method of treatment 3 times and then move on...I know for me, I only have $5k of IF coverage so after three failed IUIs, I had a clear HSG but I wanted to do a lap b/c to me there was no point of proceeding with my remaining IUIs if there was a problem. The lap didn't detract from my IF coverage either so to me it was worth it. I'm glad I did it b/c they did find endo (my right ovary was pinned to my pelvic wall) and two uterine polyps. Now at least we know more about what we're dealing with.
If it were me, I would at least make an appt. with an RE (sometimes is can take months to be seen) and then maybe do one more IUI with your OB/GYN before moving on. OB/GYNs are great for delivering your baby, but it's an REs job to get you PG.

I'm curious- was there any indication that you might have endo or polyps before the lap?
I'm wondering this too. Also, I forget to mention in my original post, my Dr. uses a trigger.
