I'm working on a gift for my college roomate, I bought the diaper bag she registered for and a small pack of diapers. What else would be good items to fill it up with. Maybe some mom items too.
This is my 1st so i've never used a diaper bag to know the important must have items.
Thanks!
Re: what goes in a diaper bag
Everything!
For a newborn: diapers, wipes, diaper cream, towels, change of clothing (atleast 2), socks (one always falls off), extra bottle, manual breast pump, formula, pacifier. It all depends of the age/stage of baby and his/her needs. these are usually essentials. HTH.
For Mom:
Chapstick
Small water bottle
Nursing pads (if she is nursing)
Snacks (fruit snacks, granola bar)
Small bottle lotion
For Baby:
Burp Cloth
Change of clothes
Paci (if she is using one)
Bib
Extra socks
Mommy to Rachel 1.15.06 and Ashley 5.17.11
I always have:
diapers, wipes, Boogie wipes, diaper cream, baby lotion, Tide pen, Hand Sanitizer, changing pad.
When he was a newborn, I had an extra bottle, bottle of water, a formula dispenser, bib and nursing pads, change of clothing.
Now, I carry snacks, an extra sippy cup, books and toys. I only carry a change of clothing if we're going to be gone for a while.
Currently in my diaper bag: diapers, wipes, disposable changing pad covers, disposable bags for dirty diapers (I like Sassy brand), travel size desitin, wet wipes (for messy hands, spills), hand sanitizer, change of clothes for DS, small toys, band-aids, tissues, sippy cup (or bottle for newborn). I used to carry a small receiving blanket in there, too, when DS was a newborn. Now that he's older and eating table food, I also have snack cups filled with non-messy snacks, disposable placemats, a fork and spoon, and a bib.
