Where do you get tights?

I have been completely underwhelmed by the ones I've purchased. I got a pair at gymboree which fell apart after a couple of wears and another at Fred Meyer which is just okay (kind of scratchy). My MIL bought some pretty nice ones, I think at Walmart of all places, but I know they only had black and white at her store.

I just want solid colors (cream and brown), soft, and durable. Suggestions? I've looked at usual suspects (gap, gymboree, children's place).

Re: moms of girls

  • Hanna Andersson has a good selection of tights and their quality is always good.  I've gotten most of the girls' tights at Old Navy because I figure tights have a short life span and theirs are cheap.  They've held up pretty well even with the girls pulling them on themselves when they dress up.

  • Old Navy tights are pretty durable. I like the Fred Meyer Kozy Kids brand ones because they are super cheap (less then $5) and they are pretty snag resistant. The other pair that I got that I really like are from The Children's Place. They are soft and stretchy. Have you checked Amazon? Hope that helps!
  • I love the Osh Kosh tights, I've only bought them at the Osh Kosh outlets, they are great.  Still look brand new after a million washings too.

I've bought one pair at Carters and wasn't that impressed with them.

  • DD is more of a tom boy so she usually wears pants, lol. Has anyone tried the new H&M? Do they have tights?
  • we just use the leggings from gymboree instead. the bottoms are cute, and DD refuses to wear socks, so tights aren't even a consideration for us.

  • I got some great ones at Baby Gap and I also love Hanna Anderson, the quality of their tights and clothes in general is excellent!
  • Thanks, ladies!!! This is very helpful! I will enjoy throwing out the nasty tights this weekend.

  • I agree with Hanna Andersson as well and I have also gotten a few pairs at Nordstrom.  I found them during the Half Yearly Sale and they were a great price.

:: slaps forehead :: Why did I never think of Nordstrom??? I'll check there, since HA cleared their stock of brown tights and only have footless tights. They rolled out their spring line, but it's still January and I want feet!

PS - Tell your DH "hi" for me.
