Parenting after 35

First day at daycare went well

I registered Adrian for a Parent's Day Out program at a local church. It's Mon and Wed from 9am to 2pm. It works great for me and DH now that I have a PT job. I was so nervous leaving him this morning, it was his first time at daycare. But they told me that he did great, ate all his food, played nice with the other kids and even took a short nap. I didn't think he would sleep or eat but he surprised me. And he didn't cry either. He might cry on Wednesday now that he knows what's up, but I hope not. He's an independent little guy but he still wants to see that I'm in the same room as him.

I think this program will be great for all of us so I'm happy I found it, and it's so affordable. Wish us luck on Wednesday :)

Me: 44 DH: 42. DS born healthy at 40 weeks 8/24/09. TTC since then with no luck or ART. Surprise BFP 8/6/14... MMC @ 8 weeks 4 days... Miss you everyday sweet baby angel.

  • So glad it worked out for both of you!   Good luck on Wed, sounds like little A took it all in stride  :)

  • I hope day 2 goes just as well.  And that's a great program to find.

  • There is nothing better than feeling comfortable with where you are leaving your LO.  I hope you are pleasantly surprised on Weds.

  • And if he does cry on Wednesday, remember that he will probably stop once you are out of sight.  So be strong Mama.

This.  They go through phases where they will cry during dropoff, Simon is doing that now so I just have DH do the dropoff but if that's not an option then don't sweat it, vanverth is right, as soon as you are out of sight the drama ends and they are happily playing.

  • Thanks all :) Actually, tomorrow DH is dropping him off and I'll pick him up, which is the good part. I think that's what we'll do so that I can be at work at 8:30 and put in my hours.
