Anyone else get this OR is it just me???

So I am 26.5 weeks pregnant and I get chest pains.  They aren't constant, but I do get them.  AND I feel like I get out of breath SO super easily and the littlest of exercise at times makes me feel like my heart is going to beat out of my chest.  I am not overweight by anymeans.  I started at 128lbs and I now weigh 151lbs and I am 5'8".  I can DEF. say that I am ten billion times lazier since I got pregnant...I think the lower back pain makes me not want to move much, but still, it's just weird and annoying. I have my 27 week appt. on Friday so I am going to talk to him about this, but just seeing what you ladies think. :-)

  • I guess I would just ask my doctor.  We have so much extra blood and weight we are carrying that just a flight of stairs I am winded.  Maybe you have a sore muscle or cartlidge in your chest causing the pain.

  • Is it possible that your chest pains is heartburn?  I never had heartburn before and the first time I got it a few weeks ago I thought I was having a heart attack.  That's what is felt like to me.

I get out of breath just getting dressed in the morning!   Pregnancy is hard work!

  • I don't get any chest pain (and if I did I'd be alarmed enough to call the dr) but I am always out of breath! I feel like I'm panting after holding a conversation longer than 5 minutes or walking for more than 5 minutes. My MW said it's normal and not to be concerned about it. The back pain is intense and I think the chiropractor did more harm than good because now it creaks, pops and crack with every. little. movement. Plus I started out and am currently the same weight as you so I'm sure the big ole belly has a lot to do with the pain.

  • I get heartburn occasionally. The past few weeks I had what I thought was just very severe heartburn, it felt like someone was sticking a hot poker in the very centre of my chest. I have had a few 'episodes' where the pain didn't lessen, and changing positions didn't change anything, this lasted for hours. During 2 of the episodes I also couldn't keep anything down and starting throwing up badly.

Well, a trip to the ER, and an Ultrasound later, I've been diagnosed with Gallstones. These are apparently fairly common in pregnancy. So yeah, if the chestpain continues or gets worse for sure tell your Dr.

I can tell the difference between heartburn and a gallstone attack now. Heartburn radiates up to the throat/mouth and usually sitting upright makes it better. You can get some relief with Tums, or even drinking milk will ease some of the pain. Gallstones nothing helps and it's a much more severe and constant pain.

Hope things get better for you.

  • I have been getting winded for a while now.  I hate it.  Makes me feel so out of shape, even the shortest walk makes me breath heavy.  And the stairs are the worst!!!  Over the last week my belly has also been feeling tight.  Like there is no room left in there, especially after I eat.  I am just having a full feeling pretty much all day.

  • Chest pain and shortness of breath come hand in hand with my acid reflux...yuck! Talk to your Dr. about it and see if they can do anything for you. Before we figured mine out it would bring on panic attacks so don't worry unless your Dr. Tells you to :) I hope you feel better soon!

  • Not sure about the chest pains (I'd talk to your dr. about that one for sure) but the shortness of breath is totally normal!  All your organs and lungs are smashed in there making room for your baby.  I get out of breath just rolling over from one side to the other in bed! LOL

  • It sounds like heartburn and pregnancy to me.  I'd try tums and being upright to see if it helps before Friday, if you can.  I was having some of this and it turns out my heartrate is really high, so checking your pulse would be something else to try and let your doctor know about if that's the case with you (which is probably unlikely).
