I just thought this was an interesting commentary on the underlying essay (which is linked in the blog). Funny, it is one of those things where I can see the rewards but I don't think I can stop praising my kids, encouraging them and basically doing more Western stuff.

Ahem, anyhoo... carrot and stick?
eta: Too much carrot from Dad. Too much stick from Mom. Reckon I'll end up somewhere in between Mom and Dad, Chinese and Western with M.
