Hi all,
I have just recently been dx with PCOS. My doctor offered me 2 options, Clomid or ovarian drilling. He recommended ovarian drilling since my endometrium was apparently really thin (3.9 mm) and he's worried about additional thinning. Despite his recommendation, we decided to try Clomid for a few cycles. To name a few reasons: we live in Kenya and I want to avoid elective surgery if I can, surgery would be completely out of pocket in terms of costs, and it seems like ovarian drilling is done much more rarely in the US than outside the US.
Have any of you experienced a thin endometrium pre-Clomid (taking Provera now to induce a bleed) and had a decent Clomid cycle? Not that you necessarily got pregnant (although great if you did!!!) but just that when you had the 14 day ultrasound, you had an ok endometrium to be able to carry a pregnancy.
Thanks in advance for your advice!!
Re: PCOS, Clomid, Thin Endometrium...oh my!
I do not have PCOS.
Last month I was on Clomid my lining only got to about a 5 at the time of my IUI. This month I was on another type of drug and at my IUI my lining was an 8.8.
My dr did say everyone is effected differently. Hope this helps.
I just googled ovarian drilling, and I think I'm with you in holding off on that a few cycles. Did you talk to the doctor at all about other meds besides Clomid? Correct me if I'm wrong ladies but doesn't Femara work similar to Clomid but without the lining issues?
