I saw this DIY bird mobile online, and I really liked it, but thought it would probably be more useful to have an actual mobile on the crib. But I still really wanted to make the birds! So I bought a cheap mobile on clearance at BRU and attached my own birds to it. I am NOT an experienced sewer; the birds have a few imperfections, but not too bad. WDYT? I'm going to attempt to make some little stuffed owls next.
Re: AW: my partial DIY mobile (PIPs)
I have a bag of stuffed cats that my mom and I were making when I was on WW the first time. For every 1# I lost we would stuff and sew a cat. The plan was to donate them to a thrift store or shelter but now that she is gone I haven't been able to part with them. I may turn a few of them into a mobile. That sounds like a great idea.
Yours looks awesome btw.
The mobile looks great! I think I had the same bird tutorial bookmarked
I plan to make an owl one once I gather enough energy. I sewed a rag quilt for my friend's 2 year old and got a big ol' blister on my thumb...blah! lol.

what a great idea, eeyoreem
Yes, it is the Graco Lauren. It's on the highest setting, and it does seem low to me, especially since I'm only 5'1. I guess I'm going to see what happens. I read a post yesterday where someone suggested standing on one of those aerobic step things, that could help and be sturdier than a stool.
