great first day @ work

Today was my official first day back.  It was really hard to leave her this morning, but I was very thankful that DH is doing drop-off duty and that my mom is taking care of her.  Both of them kept me posted each step of the way.  I'm also really happy for my mom.  She had been wanting this so badly for such a long time and I can tell she is so happy and is taking such good care of Elise.  She actually swaddled her - a little too loosely, but she did it!  I'm glad she's taking my suggestions and following my lead.  She also called me several times to ask me what to do so that made me feel good, too.  And, work was a breeze.  I took Mel's advice and took tons of pics and talked about her as much as possible.  Also, I spent most of the day catching up on all the drama and gossip so that was fun and took up most of the day (not much has changed in 3 months, lol).  Tomorrow and Wednesday, I have reading coach meetings at other school sites so those always go by quickly b/c they usually let us out early and THE BEST PART - next week is a 3-day work week between MLK's bday and a teacher planning day I opted.  The school schedule can't be beat so I am really happy with our work/caregiver situation.  Before you I know it, it will be spring break and summer vacation!  Let the countdown begin, lol.

Thanks for all of your support, ladies.  I'll check in more tomorrow from the meeting - thank goodness for smartphones!

  • I'm so happy for you Adri!  It is awesome when abuelas are the "nannies."  Hope the rest of the week flies.

  • Sounds great!  That's nice that grandma is watching her and deferring to your parenting choices.  Hope things go smoothly.
