Carson will take a soothie in the car or from someone else but his preferred paci is my nip.

Please tell me I'm not the only with a child who does this?

Ava will do this occasionally, usually in the evening. I try to break the suction and pull it out but she has a death grip on it! I'll let her sit there for a few minutes and then try to get her off because that is not a habit I want to encourage. My nips end up looking like national geographic nips when she's done, lol.

A definitely doesn't take a pacifier but he doesn't use me either...i have nothing pointful to add but wanted to say that I love your new siggy pic!

Yep. L rarely takes a paci... the Wubbanub is the only one we have luck with- occasionally. Mostly it's my nipple. I have to wait until he's so out I can pick up his arm and drop it before I can take it out of his mouth without waking him up.

my baby likes to just sit there with my nipple in her mouth and half of the time when I realize, I'll tell her she's a creeper and remove it and she usually smiles and does it again and I have pics to prove it but they'd be inappropriate..

idk. I mean he has gained weight. I weighed him last night with a dry diaper and he was 8lbs5oz which is 1oz over his birth weight BUT no where near the 8lbs 15oz she wanted him to gain by tomorrow. So he averaged about 6 oz in 2 weeks. I was waking him to feed every 2 hrs but this last week I've tried to be more on demand b/c he was not efficiently eating when I was waking him and it was making feedings even longer His poop diaper output finally stepped up since we went to the DR he goes b/t 2-6x a day.

I don't know if my milk supply is lousy (he does't ever act like he is dissatisfied except during evening cluster feeds) or if his metabolism is just really high (H was a very skinny kid and now doesn't gain weight easily). I'm so torn b/c I really wanted to EBF and have it work out but I'm also tired of worrying about whether he is getting enough food or gaining enough weight. Sorry to get so long winded...it's just something I've been stressing over/ over analyzing for almost a month now.

I can definitely understand the stress you're going through! At least he has gained weight and is pooping, that's great progress! Maybe it's just taking him a little bit to get kick started with the weight gain. I hope it all works out for you, I've been thinking about you guys.

Same here. When I break the latch he wakes up and wants to continue feeding. My LO also doesn't like to nap, one of the only ways of getting him to sleep is to allow him to feed until he passes out.

Aiden likes to use my boob as the paci only after he's been awake for awhile so he can fall to sleep. Then once he's on, I can't seem to pull him off without waking him and then he decides he's actually hungry and wants a feeding then too. Makes for very long night feeds since that's when he's the most clingy, I've been sneaking him the wubanub from time to time at night, but DH doesn't know, we've been trying to go pacifierless until cleared by the LC since our guy is a bit of a lazy latcher. Good luck with your guys weight gain!
