It's called "Get this baby out of me please, tyvm".
So when you make it to your due date, what do you discuss at your appts? I have one this afternoon and obviously I am not at my magical due date yet, but I'm close enough.
I was induced on my due date because they were worried about DD's lack of movement. They decided that 3 days before my due date at my regular appt. after they hooked me up to the moniters.
Good luck! I hope the baby comes soon! The worst part is the waiting and having people call/text you 24/7 to ask if the baby is here yet, haha.
I delivered in my very due date on a Saturday... that monday I had an appoinment, my doctor measured my progress (which was zero BTW) and told me he was going to induced me next Monday (I had GD)... it wasn't necessary because my broke on Friday.
We talked about how long we would be comfortable waiting for labor to start naturally and the process for induction if that would have to happen (it did 2 weeks later). I had an ultrasound to check on LOs movement and heart rate and fluid levels and then had those every couple of days after that until she was born. We also stripped my membranes which didn't help me, but I've heard it's helped others. Good luck to you!

I went in on my due date (a Tuesday) and I wasn't having any contractions and was only at 1 cm. He planned an induction for the following Tuesday. .I was pissed! I wanted him to say "Ok, it's your due date. Let's have a baby!" HA! Now I know better! My water ended up breaking on Friday so I didn't have to have an induction. Just beware that he might be perfectly happy to let you stay pregnant a little while longer.
Ohmygoodness! How are you 39 weeks pregnant already? Wow! I am hoping you and DH were able to work things out? (Sorry, I am severely out of touch). Anyway, I hope you have a smooth and easy delivery!
Well. I went in for an appt the day after i was due, and the following week ( 8 days late). At the due date one they said they'd let me go another week as there were no complications baby was not huge. Did a non stress test to monitor baby's heart rate and movements and called it a day. At my 41 week and 1 day appt they said "ok so the next day we are able to induce you is Saturday ...which would have been 1 day shy of 2 weeks late!) ... but during the NST DD's HR was close to 200 and she was moving a TON, so they were concerned and sent me to L&D where her HR was still 180 so I had a c-section 1 hr after entering the hospital doors!
Oh edit - and I had an U/S a few days after my due date/ mid week to check fluid levels and movements again. all were in a safe level ... lower but not low enough to say induce today!
at my 39 week appointment, I asked how long she (my OB) will let me go after my due date before she induces. She asked if I wanted to go ahead and be induced that weekend and said, "HELLL yes!" hehe! That was on Monday, went in to be induced on Friday and gave birth to a whopping 9lbs. 9oz. baby by midnight
I would ask them to strip your membranes (ewww and ouch, I know). Most places will do that if you are past 39 weeks.
This. Cried at the nurses and doc b/c I felt I was done. The doc calmed me down. She stripped my membrane, and I went back to work. Started having contractions 3 hrs later. I had Nick the next day.
I was just thinking about you! i was wondering if you had your baby or not? I bet you are exhausted right now with being pregnant and taking care of a toddler! I went in labor a day before my due date which was the 3rd of november few days before that i had my membranes stripped which was hell! literally!! few days later i started contracting and didnt even know i was in labor! i went to the dr the next day and was 4 centimeters dialted. after 7 hrs of being stuck at 5 cent and her heart rate dropping and me getting a high fever i had an emergency c/s.

The conversation I had at my 39 week appointment went something like this:
"Have you been having any contractions?"
"Not really"
"Okay well you are (checks cervix and makes surprised face) ...like 7 cm. A good 7. Maybe a little more"
"Holy sh!t"
....two hours later I was in the hospital with an epi. lol. Best of luck today, I hope she makes her appearance soon!
Do some jumping jacks woman! Castor oil? Sex? haha
Good luck with your delivery and I can't wait to see her!
you have no idea how much I hope you're right!

I went to my 40 week appt. on my EDD. They told me I was 0 cm and that if I were still pregnant in a week, we'd schedule an induction.
I cried on the way home. 6 hours later...my water broke lol.
Umm...wow!
My last appointment was 3 days before my due date. The conversation was:
Nurse: "Have you had high blood pressure before?"
Me: "Nope."
Nurse: "Well, maybe this thing is broken...tap...tap...tap. Hmmm, I got the same reading again. Are you nervous?"
Me: "Nope."
Nurse: "Well okay, Dr. H will be in shortly."
(About 5 seconds later)
Dr H.: "Let's re-do that blood pressure. 158/92. What did Nurse A get?"
Me: "158/92."
Dr. H: "You need to go to L&D now, but let's check you first. Ooohh, 0 cm still. Well that's terrible (exact words."
INDUCING that is what you talk about!!!!!
Good Luck
