Parenting after 35

27 hours, 54 minutes

My DH is doing this on FB, so I thought I would post it here.  I am ordering in the same soup I had the night before my induction tonight.  I will never forget still tasting it while in labor.  Kind of gross, but it's my fav....jalapeno soup from Rockfish!

  • Aww...That is so sweet! I have no idea what I ate before F was born, I just remember being starving and not allowed to eat after!!

  • How fun! Yep, I remember eating Mineo's pizza 3 hours prior to going into labor!

  • That's so cool! I had a light breakfast when I realized I was in labor and a few hours later Sarah was here.

  • The last thing I ate when my contractions started was steak and asparagus.  Only reason I know this is because we were at a friend's for dinner and I thought I had to go #2 but it turned out to be contractions.

Me too! I had breakfast before my OB appointment. We were *supposed* to go have lunch before my NST, but DH wanted to go to the hospital first. That's where my water broke around 2:00. I was so looking forward to lunch though.

Actually, now that I think of it, it's a good thing we didn't go to lunch first. My water would have broken there. And the place was more of a bar/restaurant. That would have been lovely.

Indiana - Enjoy the last day of Miller's "babyhood"! How cool is it that he is going to be 1 on 1/11/11?

  • Neat idea!

I had buffalo wings the night before Logan was born. Because I was having a c-section I couldn't have anything to eat after midnight and my c-section wasn't until 3:00 pm the next day. Due to some other complications it was a couple of days before I could have solid food.

  • How are you and DH celebrating Miller's bday? My sister's bday is tomorrow too - totally dig the 1/11/11 vibe! For the record, we went to Macaroni Grill before we went to the hospital for my induction the next day. I think the nurse also got me some French fries around 11pm since I couldn't eat after midnight.

  • How sweet.  DH and I went out to our favorite mexican place for our "last supper" before my induction.

  • Aww, you are too cute! Enjoy!
  • Okay Aly- that's really cute and brought back a funny memory. John had just returned from the donut store and my water broke. All I had to eat was a chocolate covered old fashioned donut prior to going to the hospital. So when the doc approached me, she asked what I had eaten today. I said, "only one choc covered donut. You should be okay down there." She laughed so hard and told me that's not why she was asking. Heck I'd sure ask. I'd want to know what I had to be prepared to clean up :p
  • My husband made beef stew before we went to the hospital but I was too nervous to eat more than one bowl full.
