NTR: 25th Anniversary Party?

Hi ladies!  I am planning a 25th Anniversary party for my parents.  It isn't until June, but since I have a snow day today (yay!) and Stella is napping I thought I would get a start on some of the planning.

Any unique or special ideas you would have would be greatly appreciated!  A good website for decorations/invitations/gifts?  A neat way to use their wedding picture (other than on a cake)?  Favors for the guests or not?

The plan right now is an outdoor party (tents/tables/etc) with a taco bar as the main food.

THANKS!  :)

  • what about performing a mock wedding?  We have a huge family for my Grandparents 25th their kids (7 girls  1 boy and spouses) put on a mock wedding.

for their 50th the grandkids did the mock wedding... it was fun the girls dressed up like guy and the guy like girls... it is fun!!

Make sure you get a good DJ and be sure to play their wedding song!!

    Taco bar sounds yummy!

  • cute idea!  Where did they go on their honeymoon?  Maybe you could do something honeymoon themed.  My aunt threw a hawaiian luau 25th anniversary party for my grandparents.

Favor ideas- I like some sort of charitable donation.  I got married in a botanical garden and the favor was that we planted a tree for every guest thru the arbor day foundation.

I'm not sure they actually took one!  It is my mom and stepdad.  I was about 4 when they got married and I don't think they went anywhere after the wedding.  It was a really small church wedding with a reception in the basement.  So I want to do something really special for this anniversary because they totally deserve it!

  • For my parents anniversary party, I had a life size cutout made of them on their wedding and I made the heads removable. Weird, I know;) But then I had them stand behind it and take photos. Everyone else did too and it made for some great pictures.

I also had small vases and pots of flowers with wedding day photos sticking out of them on the tables.
