I just got the call to trigger at midnight tonight & that I have to be in Boston @ 9:30 am on Weds ! I just really really really hope the Nor'Easter they are predicting will hit will go out to sea. They will be open no matter what but the snow could make getting into town difficult/take longer.
As of this morning, my E2= 1330 and I have 13 measureable follies. Of that 13, 6 are already mature & 2 are boarderline ( so they most likely will catch up).
After talking to the nurse, she said that since they go by the national standards, they are only going to be putting back 1 embie. They will only put back 2 if I was closer to 35 ( I'm 30) or if this was our 6th IVF attempt. I know it only takes 1 but I'm a bit bummed that a bunch of you were able to put back 2, thus increaseing your odds. Let's just hope that the 1 they put back is a rockstar & sticks !!! If not, I'm not sure what we'll do. If we have any frozen, we will do a FET. If not, we are SOL. I'm not sure my body can take another full cycle. The meds are totally fvcking with my thyroid making my TSH go on a rollercoaster ride. Also, I just don't think we can afford it. This is the last cycle our insurance will pay anything towards ( even though they don't pay it 100%, anything helps). We now have $0 in savings due to the amounts we have owed on each cycle. Our tax returns will be paying for the amount we owe on this one.
Please keep me in your T&Ps !!!
Re: XP: ER= Weds !!!
Can't you insist they put in 2 then? I would speak with the MD and explain your financial situation and really try to push the 2. They might have their standards, but you should be able to share in the decision making for your body!
The only friend I know IRL that had IVF was given the option of 1 or 2, but since she was 29 years old she opted to do 1, and she got a BFP and a beautiful baby from that one egg, so you might be just fine!
YAY!!!!! Im so excited for you Mrs. Mo!!!! WOOOHOOOOO!!!!
Best of luck and I will be praying for you
I tried and each time they say that they are bound to the hospital's rules. My particular RE may not be the one doing the ET ( they rotate) so we may still see if the one who does it will put in 2. The only thing I'm worried about is the fact that my RE will obviously find out if we go around her. I know I shouldn't be worried but I'm a total non-confrontational person and don't want to take a chance that she will stop seeing me for agoing around her.

Good luck on Wednesday!! I have my fingers crossed and I am sending positive T&Ps your way. I really hope this is it for you!
Will you be doing a day 3 or a day 5 transfer? I was told by my RE and by Dr. Sher with respect to SIRM - Las Vegas that they do not see a significant increase in success rates by transferring 2 embryos over 1 embryo on day 5 but they see a 30% increase in chance of twins. So, I can understand your RE only wanting to transfer 1.
I'm sorry about insurance. It sucks. I have absolutely no coverage for IF and so I know the feeling! I hope this cycle works for you so you don't have to worry about it!

They will tentitively schedule me for a 3 day but it all depends on how many they get, the fert. % and how they are growing. They said I could have a 2 day, 3 day, 5 day or 6 day.

GL Mrs. Mo! I hope everything works out for you! I cant wait to hear about your lil rockstar!!!
And GL stillwaiting!!!!
Fingers crossed for both of you!
I wouldn't get to hung up on a single embryo transfer. Remember that another IVF could be cheaper than twins. But given your thyroid issues and that this might be your only cycle maybe you can discuss your desire to transfer two with your RE.
Maybe after seeing the fert report you can consider AH too.
