we sent DD in boots b/c they go outside but now I think maybe it's too warm to wear boots all day (they keep the room around 68-69F). Then again, if I send her in sneakers, it might be too cold when they go outside. I don't think they'll change her shoes in the middle of the day but can talk to her teacher.
what do you do?
Re: what shoes does your toddler wear to DC?
They don't go outside when it's really cold/wet/windy, but DD just wears her regular shoes to school (Stride Rite casual types - none are light canvas). They run around when they're outside so that helps. If there were snow on the ground and they were going outside, I'd ask about switching to boots for the playground.
DD wears regular sneakers to preschool because her feet would get really hot if she wore outdoor boots all day. I'm sure they get a bit cold on the days they play outside, but they aren't out for all that long, and like the PP said, she's running around anyway. Actually, I get more concerned about her feet when we're out running errands and such...my own feet are cold in sneakers, so hers must be, too. One of her classmates has the Danalynn suede boots from Target, and her mom said that she's happy with them. So I think I'm going to get her those (have to order online; stores don't have a good size selection) as a compromise.
Maybe those are the kind of boots you're already referring to...if so, nevermind
I just pictured snow boots when I read your post.
they are actually really warm fur (fake, I'm sure)-covered inside boots, she really loves them, they are her fave shoes at the moment
(it figures that as someone who is totally NOT into shoes, I'd have a shoe-loving daughter LOL)
At the moment all my daughter wants to wear are boots. She will throw the biggest tantrum if I even attempt to put on a sneaker.I guess its just a phase. Right now we alternate between her rain boots and some brown boots from old navy. She starts preschool next month and they do some field trips so I will pack her some sneakers just in case.
