Granted - I know I'm only 10 weeks and not 40 and it's rare for others to notice a bump yet. But on some days I hardly notice it either. I can feel the enlarged uterus around my pelvic area but some days I don't see even a small bump. (And other days - I'm so bloated so it's the opposite.) I'm pretty sure everything is fine - and I know everyone is different. Just interesting.
Thought we can start a topic and see how everyone else is doing...

S/PAIF/PAL ALWAYS WELCOME!!
All I'm showing are the halved cantelopes that appeared on my chest, seemingly overnight and the muffin top spilling over my jeans. I feel anxious to have some visual proof that there's really a wee one in there.
With DS i didnt really show until 18-20 weeks. Thats when i started to wear maternity pants. This time around; my pants are getting snug already... and i doubt i will make it to 12 weeks before i change.
this is exactly how I feel. My mom didn't show until around 17-18 weeks so I'm assuming it will be similar for me and I'm just fine with that.
Same here!
I having been feeling as though perhaps I am not showing as much as I should too. Actually, I was fine until yesterday. I blame the saleslady at Destination Maternity. I went in to look at those belly bands and she asked how far along I was (10 weeks) and she looked down at my belly and then gave me the side-eye, asking if I was "really 10 weeks"(which I am!) and that "my frame is too small to not, NOT be showing a little bit already". jeeez, thanks lady. Now I am frightened that the baby has stopped growing and thinking the worst.
thankfully I have an appointment tomorrow.
I have a smaller frame too so everyone was saying "you are going to show right away." Everyone is different so we probably shouldn't worry yet. I have my next OB appointment on Friday. The first US everything looked great. That was 8.5 weeks. I'm sure we are doing just fine. It's my first and I hear it takes longer to show with your first.

You are absolutely right! If both of our first appointments showed that our babies looked perfect and was measuring right on schedule, than there is no reason to think otherwise. Its those little seeds of doubt that sometimes cause such undue panic. Bet of luck to you for you appointment on Friday!

This is also my third and I'm still wearing my jeans with no bella bad yet. I didn't start to show until 18 weeks with my first and with #2 I went straight to maternity cloths at 8 weeks because I was so uncomfortable.
The only thing I can think of is with #2 I was working in an office and under lots of stress. My pants are tighter some days over others and I definately have a little muffin top going on.

Uhh Noone was stressing. Noone is worried as I mentioned multiple times. Simply created a topic for everyone to chat about. Everyone is different.
This^ And, these boards are for all of us to discuss things with other pregnant mothers. We have all probably googled and read many pregnancy books, but it is completely different to discuss it with other people going through the same thing.
If you want to stick to pregnancy books and google, that's fine, but the rest of us would like to enjoy our conversation.
This exactly!

Same with me as well. And with a pretty small frame (and two babies in there) I really thought I would be showing more by now. I change day to day though. Today I wore of pair of pants that I was able to button. Last week I had to wear my be-band with the same pants. And I just went to the doc on Friday, and everything is fine. I guess everyone responds differently.
That warrants this?
Right...not exactly sure that the OP was "stressing" about anything. I believe she said she was interested in knowing how everyone else is doing. Perhaps she enjoys talking to others rather than reading over-hyped books and crap all over the interwebz.
I think we should save this post because some July, we'll all probably be complaining about being too big
I'm just bloated right now. I have some extra weight around the middle from my last two pregnancies, but I was definitely "showing" a lot earlier with my second than my third (14 week as opposed to 21 weeks). I think I'm going to switch to my maternity stuff soon, though. I'm so bloated my regular pants just aren't comfortable at all.

Thanks hart0620! I think sometimes I read too much - and want to discuss with a real person.
Then don't discuss.
Bye-bye.
And by the way, people griping and commiserating about feeling fat happens to be MY pet peeve. Did you not know that was going to happen before you got pregnant?! Guess what? You get pregnant, you gain weight. Shocker. But I don't weigh into people's discussions and tell them that they're not entitled to discuss. It's a message board. If they want to commiserate about gaining weight, so be it. If people here want to ask others about whether or not they're showing, so be it. It's really not your job to tell others what is legitimate to discuss. For a topic that you think is so silly, you certainly keep coming back to reinforce your point.
And the fact that you tell people to google in order to get their information literally made me fall on the floor laughing. Google? Seriously? No thanks. I think I'll stick with the advice obtained from my doc and specialists.
I never said people couldn't discuss it. In my first post, I just told the facts about bloat vs belly. I do think there isn't a need for multiple posts about it every day but I don't comment on all of them. And I have said a total of three things (including this post).
As far as google, that was said because I felt the OP could get the same info from a google search that she will get from the ladies here. I trust my doctor and the information she gives me as well. But an internet search can provide some basic knowledge.
I read out of my pregnancy books all the time, but it's nice to hear what other people are actually experiencing rather than just the standard symptoms. My body feels so crazy some days it's nice to hear that real people are going through the same.
I'm a little thicker all around but it's mostly in the front. It seemed like I got my BFP and for the rest of that week my belly kept getting more bloated every day and has stayed that way since. I wasn't expecting that at all since I look months further along.
Every pregnancy is different and while all of us have read books and googled (which is not always the best idea) being able to compare symptoms with other women in the same stage of pregnancy is very helpful. I am 10 weeks and I look pregnant. Pregnant enough that my students have noticed my belly and asked questions about it. Everybody is different. Oh and i don't feel Fat or Frumpy. I look great! Thanks
Here's the thing.......there is no debate here just women sharing their feelings and experiences. I read every post in this thread and nobody is commiserating about anything. We are all happy and grateful to be pregnant. This is also a board full of women who have armed themselves with knowledge about what is happening inside of their bodies via books, internet and doctors. If this subject it is your pet peeve then don't read the post. Problem solved. Your negativity is just not warranted or welcome here.
