150mg Clomid anyone?

Since my last cycle didnt work my RE wants to bump me up to 150 mg of clomid. On 100 mg I only produced 1 follicle that was 18 mm the day before my IUI.

My question is did anyone else have to go on that high of a dose? I have done 100mg 3 times already 1 with an IUI. If you did how many follicles did you get compared to the lower dose? Did you have any side effects? On 100 I had bad side effects (it was the worst the first time I took it -light headed, felt like I was going to pass out and just out of it).

 I am lucky to have some good insurance that has covered everything, but they will not cover 150 mg for me, just 100.

    I finished a round of 150 mg about two weeks ago or so.  I developed two large 20+mm follies from it.  We have not done IUI yet, just TI.  I find that taking Clomid at night before bed pretty much keeps the side effects away for me. 

     I'm surprised your insurance covers only certain dosage levels of Clomid.  I work in insurance and have never heard of that.  If that is the case, you might want to check into the generic.

    I took 150mg this cycle.  I had 2 follicles when I triggered for the IUI (17.5 and 20).  With the 100mg I didnt O until CD 31 which my RE considered an unsuccessful cycle.


    TTC#1 for 19 months with PCOS and MFI IUI#3 + injectables = BFP!!!!  Beta#1-134(13dpiui) Beta #2-392(15dpiui)

    Yes, I take 150 mg. I also take it at night. I got pg with my son on 150.

    My last round of Clomid last summer was 200mg.  It wasn't that expensive (less than $40) at my pharmacy.  It was awful though.  The hot flashes at 150mg and 200mg were unbearable and I started to get the blurred vision once in awhile.

    I never noticed a difference if I took it at night, I still had the side effects the next day.

    Probably not what you wanted to hear.  Femara seems to be much more nice to me except for the acne I've developed.  Good luck!

    Thank you for all the information. Sorry it took so long for me to respond. I wish I could do it on my iphone but I cant for some reason??!! I am glad that there has been success on 150mg. Good luck to you on it this round, hope you get your BFP soon! I think I will take it at night to see if that helps at all.
