Thanks for all the warm wishes and congratulations! I hope ya'll get picked soon too. The past 7 months has gone by so slowly. When I first got the call, I was so caught off guard with everything that has been going on (see horrible NKOTB experience post below). I was so freaked out about having all the money saved up and being 100% ready, but then I realized that we are ready. The agency e-mailed the cost breakdown and we only owe another $10,500. I am so relieved. We almost have that much in our baby savings account right now. Then, the agency told us she is due in April and I'm a teacher, so I can use my sick time and short-term disability to take the rest of the school year off. I could potentially be off with the baby from mid-April until mid-August!
I hope she doesn't change her mind, this seems to be a perfect match

Again, I'm so happy for you. I'm a teacher too, and we got the call about Ben the first day of summer vacation and then I took another 6 weeks off (with pay because I had enough sick days) at the beginning of the year so I didn't have to go back to work until Ben was nearly 4 months old.
It's great about the cost too. We didn't have to take out a loan or anything like that and we were so grateful not to have to worry about it. It's a load off your mind, I know.
I'll be thinking of you and praying for you every step of the way!
