Peds Recommendation in Troy/Rochester Area

I've been referred to Pediatric Consultants of Troy and Lifetime Medical Associates so far.  I'd like to get some further recommendations and, if possible, specific doctors you like.  I would like to stay within my home area and have a doctor/practice affiliated with Beaumont hospital.

Thanks!

  • We see Dr. Amy Youn at Mali and Mali. They are in the building across from Beaumont. I have nothing but good things to say about the practice.

  • I take the boys to Northeast Pediatrics.  They are in a new office off of Rochester Road and Barclay Circle.  We mainly see Dr. Antone.  He's really good with the boys and I've heard nothing but great things about him.  I've met all the other doctors in the practice and like all but 1 (they have 6 total I believe).  They're really good about having appointments available the same day.  I can usually get in within an hour or two of calling.  They also have Saturday hours and a doctor on call 24/7, so you can call with concerns anytime of the day

I use to go to Lifetime Medical for myself.  The doctors there are double board certified- so they do pediatrics, but they also see adult patients as well.  I got a hard sell from them to bring Noah in for his well visits once they realized I had a baby.  My biggest concern was their hours.  I had a hard enough time making same day appointments for myself when I was sick.  Their hours are kind of limited too.  And they don't have Saturday hours.  9 times out of 10, when Noah has been sick and needed to see the doctor, it's been on the weekend.  I also wasn't too impressed with the doctor I was seeing.  I had a lot of concerns about the care I was receiving.  I ultimately ended up switching practices.

  • I second Dr. Amy at Mali and Mali. All the doctors there are great, though. Super easy to get an appointment, too. Even have Saturday hours. I have also taken my son for a second opinion to Dr. Molly OShea at Birmingham Pediatrics. She's right next door to Somerset Mall. I really like her too but it is not always easy to get an appointment, although she will answer emails up until 10 p.m. on her iPhone. She is expensive, too, and since we pay out of pocket up until our very high deductible, we are sticking with M and M.

  • Dr. Molly at Birmingham Peds (she is in Troy near Somerset).
  • We use Pediatric Consultants of Troy.  We use both offices, Troy and Shelby Twp and have had great experiences at both.  They have 6 or 7 docs and we have seen most of them and like them all.  I can always get in same day if I need to, and making appointments is easy too.  They have lots of flexibility.  The Troy office inside Troy Beaumont offers a night owl walk in clinic for their patients from 5-8 Sunday-Friday.  They have Saturday hours by appointment also.  Unless DS is sick, I never have to leave work for his appointments and even so we've used the night owl quite a few times and it's been great.  No random urgent care docs, your own docs and your childs records.

So I guess what I'm saying is I highly recommend them.  Dr. Dreyer, and Dr. Mac are my faves.  Hope that helps.

  • I love Dr. Zoy at Mali and Mali Pediatrics, although I have had good experiences with all the doctors there.

  • Dr. Wittenberg at Birmingham Pediatrics https://www.birminghampediatrics.com/

I really like that you can email them with any questions and then respond within a few hours.
