Parenting after a Loss

::thisclose:: to buying a Moby

I wanted one with DS but never pulled the trigger.  I think I'll get a lot more use out of it this time around anyway since I think I'll need to wear this LO more than I wore DS.   Also since I don't feel like spending just a few bucks less to get the infant insert for the Ergo, which I hear no one likes that much anyway.  One-click purchasing on Amazon is SO dangerous!  DH might kill me, though.....what a conundrum.

  • The Moby is totally worth it. When Jack was smaller (he is a chunky 14lbs now) it worked great and I will still put him in it when he is fussy. Some days it was the only way I could do anything around the house.

    Do you have a baby consignment store near you? We have one here called Once Upon a Child. I found our Moby there for $18. It was the best purchase I have ever made.

    I have the infant insert for the Ergo too. It works, but makes the whole thing rather bulky. Mrs.Nunley told me that she just used a blanket with her daughter and it worked well too.

    Long post short is, I totally recommend springing for the Moby (also look into a ring sling.)

  • Get it. I do not go anywhere without mine. Even if she outgrows it soon, I'll have gotten more than enough use out of it. I am wearing her now. She takes the best naps in the Moby.

  • I loooove it!  You might want to check out CL or consignment stores.  I know the one by me had 3...2  of which looked brand new.

  • Liam (my tiny fuss-bucket) loves it but Aaric screams until I take him out. I'm going to get a ring sling to try for him. But I got mine used off of ebay for about $10.

  • I really want a moby whenever we decide to have baby #2.  I used my babyhawk with DD and I liked it but all those squishy newborns look so snuggly in a moby.

  • I have one and love it, but the only one I could find in the store was a brown one and I really wear a lot of black...so now I want a black one. So I think I'm just going to buy about a 6 yard length of jersey cotton fabric and rig up my own!

    . THIS. $15 at Joanne's, 5 yards of jersey, cut it in thirds the long way and POOF, instant Moby.
