Stay at Home Moms

If money wasn't an issue, where would you travel to?

My sister will be going to Tahiti for her honeymoon to stay in one of those huts in the water things...which sounds amazing.

Plus I've always wanted to go to Alaska (someone mentioned going there in a previous post).

So, this is getting my vacation juices flowing.  Where would you go if you had the money?

  • The two places next on our list are Iceland and Peru. We were supposed to go to Iceland the other summer, but ended up going to Paris. I kind of regret that since we have both been there multiple times, but never Iceland.

Also, not as much a money issue as a time issue - I really want to go to New Zealand, but just can't commit a full day of travel just for the flight right now.

  • Definately Italy. I would also like to do a whole tour of Europe thing too. Alaska would be after those and Ireland.

Ditto on Iceland (and the time thing!).  This has been on my list for a while, but with two little ones now, our vacationing is now limited to short trips away.  We'll be world travelers again one day...

  • I'd love to do a tour of Europe and a tour of the mediterranean.  I'd also love to go on an African safari and also visit Australia.

I was lucky enough to go to Tahiti for my honeymoon.  We stayed in one of those overwater huts in Bora Bora.  Amazing!

  • Island wise- I'd love to do either Tahiti, Maldives or Bora Bora.

Outside of tropical locations: Czech Republic, London, Germany, Spain (Basically to eat our way through!)

  • Australia and New Zealand even though the thought of being on an airplane that long is not appealing.

I would also like to go to Alaska.

  • Norway, where DH is from. We are hoping to go next year. His grandma's house is right on the ocean overlooking where all the cruise ships come in. I think Oslo is the most expensive city in the world so we better start saving lol!

  • Everywhere...If money were no option (and I didn't have a young child) I would take a year or two and just travel.

  • I would go to Italy, Fiji, and maybe Greece

  • Next on our list is Barcelona.  After that, we plan to do a 3-week bike/hike trip through India -- that's like 5 years down the line, though, because money really is an issue.

If I had tons of cash, I'd rent an apartment in Paris and from there take little trips to Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Prague... everywhere in Europe.  I'd also love to visit New Zealand but I doubt that's happening before DD is an adult.

  • I would love to take Miles to Cozumel (where we went for our honeymoon), and Europe.  If we were independently wealthy, I envision visiting a different exotic locale every year, at least.  <sigh>

Unfortunately, we are not even dependently wealthy, so that will have to wait awhile. :)

  • Paris for sure! I'm a little bit of a francophile. DS has never been abroad at all, so probaly we'd start in England or Ireland where they speak English ;)
  • Without a doubt, Europe.  I have always wanted to see England, Ireland, France, Spain and Italy.  At this point, it's not going to happen anytime soon.  :(
  • Where WOULDN'T I go is a better question.......

DH and I have a lot of plans to travel in the future with the kids. We're waiting until they're a little older so it's more enjoyable for all of us.

I would like to go to South America (Brazil, Argentina and Chile), New Zealand (we did Australia on our honeymoon and I DO want to go back), Iceland (we saw a film about Reykjavik and loved the scenery), Russia, Japan and South Africa.......that's my dream list for now.........

  • If time also wasn't an issue, one of those around the world cruises.  Or an African safari.

  • For me, it's not as much about money as it is about the kids. So many vacations we'd like to take are impractical unless we leave the boys for a couple weeks, and I'm not at all prepared to do that. I'd love to go to New Zealand and spend a week in the north and a week in the south. There is so much of Europe I haven't seen, like Scandinavia and Prague/Budapest, and the Mediterranean. I'd love to spend a coupl weeks touring the British Isles, maybe driving through Wales and the Yorkshire Dales. DH really wants to go to Japan, although it's not at the top of my list.

  • This is so hard because I really would go anywhere that was relatively safe!

I'm sure cruising around Alaska would be nice right now, maybe I could see a pod of Orcas playing out in the ocean ;)

  • If money wasn't an issue, we would go to Germany first.  My husband grew up there and tells me these stories about where he lived, the little bakeries they'd go to and the sweet shop.  Plus, he has some family there we'd love to visit.

But then we would head to Fiji.  We have always wanted to go there.

  • We went to Greece for our honeymoon and I would love to go back but I would want to tour more of the islands and then move on to Italy. Also Morocco, Istanbul and Turkey.
