Kaugie, me too but we are going on vacation with the in-laws this week so I am thinking they are going to notice the lack of drinks consumed by me...no fun. So we are planning on telling them.
So when are you scheduled for a Dr Visit? I am January 4th, my 7th week, at an Advocate Health center on Halstead.I am still open to changing doctor's though, but I am thinking once you go once or twice I should probably commit.
I am due September 1. We live in Lincoln Park, but my doctor is in Elk Grove where I work. We are finding out tomorrow about insurance changes so it may be possible for me to switch to a doctor in the city.
How did the Dr appt go? I had mine on Tuesday and it was nice I had an ultrasound and say the little tiny baby and heart beat. We also told the in-laws over the Holidays because a week with them would be too hard to keep a secret. We are telling the rest of the family in 3 more weeks.
I really liked my Dr. she is in Lincoln park area.
What a great idea for a thread! I'm due August 12th and we live in Lakeview.
I actually work for Dr Teresa Hubka and she is a great OB/GYN located at Halsted and Diversey. She delivers at Swedish Covenant Hospital.
Have any of you started prenatal exercise classes? I want to but feel a little silly only being 9 weeks. I heard there was a good prenatal yoga class at Illinois Masonic on Wednesdays.
Hello! I'm due August 19th and live in Lincoln Park. I'm really interested in connecting with other new moms, as I moved to Chicago this summer from Toronto, and still don't know very many people
I also read in another thread that the prenatal yoga at Masonic is good! I'll definitely be taking the class.. but yeah, when do you start? I heard somewhere that regular yoga is okay until about 20 weeks, so maybe then??
I know KChicago mentioned the yoga class, but would anyone else be interested in having a yoga meetup of sorts?
I am not good at blogging because I have no idea how to tell when people write on my posts. I better get a hang of it.
I looked up the class and it is reasonable, $84 for 6 classes and you can use the classes from now until August. Perhaps in February or March? I would think even if we aren't showing we could go.
About not showing, my stomach is swelling and looking larger. I was wondering when do people usually go up a pant size? I was hoping I would make it to the 2nd trimester. So far, same size but starting to think I might not last 3 or 4 more weeks.
I'm starting to notice my pants are tighter but I think it has more to do with my general disregard for anything related to a fruit or vegetable. I've GOT to start doing some form of exercise. It's just impossible to drag myself off the couch after I get home from work. I think getting a weekly class set up would help me get some motivation. I think maybe starting in February is a good idea?

My Dr. is at that center so that is nice.
