31 Weeks pregnant and popcorn ceiling removal?

My DH and FIL started the renovation of our baby room this weekend. I was at work and they asked if it was okay to remove the popcorn ceiling in that room. I said sure. So when I get home they are starting the removal of it. I just start cooking dinner and hang out in the living room while they were doing their thing. Well dust got everywhere in the house I mean EVERYWHERE. And then I started to get worried about being in the house with the dust being everywhere. They had the window open while doing it and our house is ventilated well.

Should I be worried just being in the house being 31 weeks pregnant while they are renovating the room? I have done research on asbestos and they said there is no research saying that asbestos can even reach the fetus and it is more of a long term affect of breathing it in. Like 20+ years. It was just one small room should I be okay?

  • I would try to have the room sealed off with plastic while they work in there so that the dust doesn't get into the main area of the house.  We are currently doing renovations to our house while we live in a rental, and I really try to go over there for very limited amounts of time due to the dust.  It is mostly long-term exposure you have to worry about, but it's not worth finding out the hard way.

This and make sure they tape off the vents.
