A hot dog cart is riiiight outside and a hot dog sounds more delicious than anything has in weeks. I guess the disease you can get from them is really rare, but it's below freezing so I wouldn't trust the cooker to get hot enough.
Anybody else craving anything that is off-limits or questionable?
Re: Anyone really craving food you're not supposed to have?
I really really want to eat plates and plates of sushi! I've decided that I won't abstain completly (and visit my very clean favorite restaurants). But, given that we're not supposed to eat tons of fish, I can't eat as much as I would like!
I really like sushi and extremely rare steaks but luckily neither has sounded good lately, so no need to worry about eating it. The only other risky foods that I've wanted are easy to find safe versions of, i.e. Caesar salad with pasteurized dressing.
your baby is going to have 6 heads. Just wait.
I'm just trying to make conversation while I can't sleep. Seriously, it's not like I was hysterical and asking if I am going die because I accidentally ate some feta.

Congrats to my buddy Mork! Welcome sweet E!
I brought a turkey sandwich for lunch today - and I'm totally not going to "heat it to steaming" before I eat it.
I also really want wine, and sometimes I get really sad thinking about how long I'll have to go without having a drink! Especially since we're going on a beach vacation in June

pretty much all blue cheese in the US is pasteurized and fine. If you're worried, ask, but it's most likely just fine.
Beer.
I have eaten a hot dog. From a legit hot dog restaurant. (well, as legit as a hot dog restaurant can be) It was divine.
You can absolutely have lobster! Go enjoy that, but skip the vodka
I still eat sushi when pregnant, even the raw stuff. The worst that can happen is you'll get food poisoning and I make sure to go to a reputable place. I avoid high mercury fish though. My problem is I still feel so nauseous that nothing ever sounds good...all I eat right now is carbs. Blech.
That's what I think too... moderation and probably not buying food from street vendors.
I have been eating lunch meat for a few days now. Without heating it. SINNER!!
I figure as long as its not slimy, greenish or funky smelling, I'm probably ok.
