We need to find out what's going on with Mads.

On Thursday, I got a frantic call from my MIL in the morning telling me that Mady was staring and was unresponsive. Her hands were also shaking and cold. All she would do was sit in an infant carrier she has laying around. She an extremely active toddler so for her to just sit and stare after sleeping for 13 hours the night before was really weird. So we took her to her pedi right away and he couldn't find anything wrong with her or virus related. We took her home and she laid around all day and was really lethargic. Now he's questioning if her febrile seizure last year was really fever related.

Her pedi scheduled her to have an EEG (a brain wave scan) test at the hospital tomorrow morning at 10:15. The test looks for how the brain is functioning but also can determine if she's more prone to having seizures. It's a test which requires that she's sleep deprived so that she will sleep during the test. So we can only let her sleep from 12am-5am...yikes!

When I was ten, I had the same test so I'm not totally worried about the test. I just want to know if there is something wrong with her and if there is anything we can do for her. If you could keep her in your prayers, that'd be great. Thanks!

Definitely praying. A friend of ours has a little boy who has had some episodes like that. Totally awake, but just sort of out of it. Not obviously a seizure, either. Turns out it is a metabolic imbalance, that has been corrected with medicine and diet. I'm hoping the fix is as simple for you. If you want to know more, I am sure my friend would be happy to answer questions about the diagnosing process. He was tested for everything that could possibly trigger a seizure or that type of episode. Page me and let me know. Hoping for the best, and praying for some peace of mind for you.
