Trouble TTC

Trigger question?

I see people asking about "testing" their trigger.  Can someone explain what that means?  I am hopefully getting my trigger shot on Tuesday after my ultrasound.

Re: Trigger question?

  • A trigger is HCG, so it will give you + HPT's until it is out of your system.  I was told by some of the lovely ladies on here that it could take 10-12 days.  For me it was about 10 days.

The main point of doing this is so that you don't test too early and see a + HPT and think it's real when it is actually the trigger.  So if you "test it out" then you will see it get negative and if it gets positive again then you know it is real.  Good luck!!

  • Ahh...ok.  That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure.

That's actually good news for me because I was thinking about testing before I go out of town (will be 13 dpo I think), but now I'll just wait until I am home with dh.
