I am pretty sure my daughter has a cold. She doesn't have a fever, but she is very congested. All last night I had to keep sucking out her nose. What has everyone done to help their little ones feel better? Also do I bring her to the doctor for a cold or is it just a fever I should call for? I will probably call her Dr. today, just because I am a nervous mom when it comes to my girl being sick, but I am going to wait until they are open. Thanks for your suggestions and help!
Re: what do you do when LO has a cold?
My doc said if there is no fever no need to bring her in...they suggested:
Saline nose drops if really congested and suction
Sit in bathroom with hot shower going for 15 minutes
Prop them up for sleep
Put humidifier in the room

My DD does have a fever but here is what I am doing to keep her comfortable until pediatrician's office opens. It seems like she has had a cold since she started daycare.
- Saline and suction
- Cool mist humidifier
- Sleep in carseat or boucer
- Baby Vicks
- Tempid bath & humid bathroom.
- Sitting her on my knee leaning forward slightly to encourage the mucus to drain forward, instead of into her ears.
Hope this helps and hope your LO gets better soon. Sick babies are NO fun.
