In the spirit of me making a cleaning chart and actually sticking to it, how often do you:

1. Clean bathrooms? Like REALLY clean them.

2. Change your bed sheets/kiddo's sheets?

3. Vacuum?

4. Mop/Shark or sanitize the floors?

5. Dust?

6. Do Laundry?

7. Mop/Sanitize bathroom floors?

8. Wash windows?

9. Wipe down appliances?

10. Wash bath toys? Regular toys?

1. Clean bathrooms? Like REALLY clean them. Dh cleans them weekly...he does an OK job...when I b*tch at him he does a better job haha

2. Change your bed sheets/kiddo's sheets? Every two weeks....or when I forget once a month (I know...gross

3. Vacuum? Once or Twice a week...we only have carpet upstairs.

4. Mop/Shark or sanitize the floors? I swiffer the floors a few times a week, but usually really MOP once every two weeks.

5. Dust? When company comes

6. Do Laundry? Every Sunday

7. Mop/Sanitize bathroom floors? Once or twice a week with the swiffer

8. Wash windows? Hmmm...we've been here since July and haven't done this at all

9. Wipe down appliances? I wipe the top of the stove daily,and do the fridge once every few months.

10. Wash bath toys? Regular toys? N/A

FYI: our house is surface clean, but I've been toying with the idea of hiring a cleaning person to come once every two week or once a month to DEEP clean. I don't want a service though, I'd prefer a private person or a service without a contract.

We are both exhausted from working 50+ hour weeks and I'm sure it will get worse once we add a kiddo to the mix.

1. Clean bathrooms? Like REALLY clean them. I wipe over counters, clean the toilet, clean the mirrors like once a week or so. But I don't scrub the tub/shower, mop the floor, etc except like once a month.

2. Change your bed sheets/kiddo's sheets? every 2-3 weeks. Yikes...I need to get better about this. LOL!

3. Vacuum? once a week

4. Mop/Shark or sanitize the floors? we sweep/vacuum the hard floors about once a week, and mop them about once a month

5. Dust? twice a month maybe?

6. Do Laundry? I do mine once a week (sometimes more) and Holly's once a week. DH does his own.

7. Mop/Sanitize bathroom floors? see question 2

8. Wash windows? uh....very rarely. Like three times in the 2 years we've lived here? LOL... have never done the outsides.

9. Wipe down appliances? the stovetop--nightly. I wipe down the fronts of the fridge, dishwasher with stainless cleaner maybe once a month.

10. Wash bath toys? Regular toys?bath toys--very rarely--once every other month or something? Regular toys, even less often.. If they're visibly dirty, Holly's been sick, or we've had a bunch of kids over or something, more often. Otherwise, we just don't wash them often.

DH just made a cleaning chart a couple weeks ago, we both love it.

1. Clean bathrooms? Like REALLY clean them. 1x/week

2. Change your bed sheets/kiddo's sheets? 1x/week

3. Vacuum? 3x/week

4. Mop/Shark or sanitize the floors? 2x/week

5. Dust? 1x/week

6. Do Laundry? As needed, usually 1x/week

7. Mop/Sanitize bathroom floors? 1x/week

8. Wash windows? Never LOL The glass patio door gets done 2x/week.

9. Wipe down appliances? 3x/week

10. Wash bath toys? Regular toys? n/a

1. Clean bathrooms? Like REALLY clean them. Every weekend they get scrubbed down.

2. Change your bed sheets/kiddo's sheets? Every Sunday

3. Vacuum? Probably once a week, we only have carpet upstairs.

4. Mop/Shark or sanitize the floors? Our kitchen gets done every other night because it's a PITA. The hardwoods probably once every other week.

5. Dust? Every 2 weeks, maybe?

6. Do Laundry? I do loads on Wednesday and Sunday

7. Mop/Sanitize bathroom floors? Every weekend.

8. Wash windows? I think we did when we moved in 6 months ago?

9. Wipe down appliances? The stove gets wiped down every night, the fridge and dishwasher probably every couple of days. Stainless steel and little hands are not a good combo.

10. Wash bath toys? Regular toys? Bath toys, hardly every. Regular toys every weekend or other weekend. I just do a quick vinegar/water spray and wipe down, it isn't a thorough scrubbing.

5. Dust? Every 2-3 weeks

6. Do Laundry? I do a load of sheets, a load of towels, a load of darks and a load of whites weekly. (I just do mine and DD's. DH does his own.) Extra loads done as needed.

7. Mop/Sanitize bathroom floors? Again, never...

8. Wash windows? Never.

9. Wipe down appliances? When dirty.

10. Wash bath toys? Regular toys? Bath toys - N/A. Regular toys - when dirty.

Weekly. I find cleaning them weekly means I rarely have to deep clean.

2. Change your bed sheets/kiddo's sheets?
Weekly. I wash all sheets and towels on Sunday morning.

3. Vacuum?
Upstairs: Weekly - this is DH's job, sometimes it does not happen.
Kitchen: 2x a week

4. Mop/Shark or sanitize the floors?
Weekly

5. Dust? Rarely/when I feel like it

6. Do Laundry?
I do one load a night. I do sheets / towels / kid cloths / darks / lights

7. Mop/Sanitize bathroom floors?
Weekly. I do this when I clean the bathrooms.

8. Wash windows? Yearly

9. Wipe down appliances? Every other week or so. But, I wipe down the fridge doors and handles daily - they gross me out!

10. Wash bath toys? Regular toys? Rarely/Never. Unless DD is sick, then they are cleaned/washed.

Vacuum? downstairs 2-3x/week (we drag in a lot of dirt going in & out the back door which leads into our carpeted family room), upstairs I try each week but sometimes every other week (it just doesn't seem to get dirty since we are mostly downstairs), basement probably 1x/month which is shameful, but I just always forget about it.4. Mop/Shark or sanitize the floors? As needed...usually about 1-2x/month (unless we have a spill), but in the summer when I'm canning it's more often.5. Dust? 2x/month6. Do Laundry? all.the.time - usually mondays I do everything (sheets, towels, all clothes) & then I'll end up doing another load at some other point later in the week7. Wash windows? my goal is 2x/year, but some of the more "used" windows (like the back door windows & kitchen windows that are low) more often b/c they constantly have toddler hand & doggie snout prints9. I'm glad you posted this b/c I was beginning to feel like I was dirty or something! LOL Since having DD (plus working full time) I just don't have time to do this like I used to!!

2. Change your bed sheets/kiddo's sheets? Every 2 weeks

3. Vacuum? Once a week. We swiffer sweep in between if lots of dog hair

4. Mop/Shark or sanitize the floors? Kitchen-when dirty-which is like once a month or every 2 months; hardwoods, ummmm 2x/year

5. Dust? about every 2-3 weeks

6. Do Laundry? Weekly or more if needed

7. Mop/Sanitize bathroom floors? When dirty-like quarterly??

8. Wash windows? Maybe once a year, but only the bottom of the windows where there are handprints/faceprints.

9. Wipe down appliances? When dirty.

10. Wash bath toys? Regular toys? Bath toys - N/A. Regular toys - when dirty.

8. Wash windows? Dog prints every 2 weeks, otherwise once/twice per year

9. Wipe down appliances? Counters and stovetop most days, others every 2 weeks.

10. Wash bath toys? Regular toys? Haven't cleaned most since we got them. DS is starting to mouth things, so I foresee this happening more often.

Happily, we have a cleaning lady that comes every two weeks, so some things get done more often than if I were to do it myself. Other things, like vaccuuming, get done less often than I'd like, but only because when it gets to the point of me wanting to do it, I think to myself, 'Aww...what's the point, Brenda (our cleaning lady) is going to just do it again in a few days...'

I saw one PP wanted cleaning help to do the DEEP cleaning. That's what I expected would happen every 2 weeks, but apparently, she rotates what gets cleaned that week, so other than the big items (kitchen, baths, floors), the other parts get cleaned on a rotation. It is MUCH better than what I would do, but it is never DEEP cleaned unless I do it myself or pay extra for a one-time deep clean. Also, the first clean is usually pretty thorough, then it just becomes maintenance.
