graco snugride + baby trend frame?

We've decided to go this route for the infant stroller, mainly because it was the easiest (ok, the only one that was easy at all!) for me to snap closed and maneuver and lift into my car.

Anyone have any issues with either?

And how long can you use an infant carseat? I know 1 year / 35 lbs...but would we be able to use this same carseat with the next baby or would we need to buy a new one?

Re: graco snugride + baby trend frame?

  • Unless you are in an accident or buy a very girly pattern and your next is a boy you should be able to use the car seat again.  There is a date stamped into the car seat that will tell you when it "expires."

  • We opted for something super girly....so I guess I'll be changing that! Do you know how far out the expiration is?
  • I think it's somewhere between three & five years.  I thnk "experts" tend to say switch before the expiration date if you live in extreme heat or cold since extreme temperatures stress the plastic
  • C - have you tried the Maclaren Easy Traveller?  We have a Baby Trends (borrowed) and while I'm thankful for it (since it was free) if we'd bought, I would hands down have gone with the Mac for the umbrella fold feature.
  • I think we had the BT frame with the GS infant seat.  No problems here!
  • Both of my girls used the same Graco Snugride.  It was super girly but luckily that worked in our favor.

I checked the Graco that we have and it "expires" in Dec of 2012.  That will be six years from the time we bought it.

Thanks!!!! I'm going to change from the super pink one...

  • I have to ditto kat. The maclaren easy traveller is lighter and folds up smaller than the baby trend- folds like an umbrella stroller rather than just in half like the s'n'g. i used it with both boys and loved it.

  • Like Kat and Rayskit have said, the Maclaren SNG frame is awesome!

  • They didn't have a Maclaren on display to try. We're heading to Right Start next weekend, hopefully we can try one out there.

I had my heart set on a Peg Perego, but it was extremely heavy when folded....I would not have been able to get it in and out of my car! I can't believe strollers weigh so much!

  • We'll be buying a Snugride for this baby (ours was a borrored one that expired) and have a babytrend frame.  We used a snugride before and loved it.  No problems with us.

We switched our girls around 6 months because they were longer than the height requirement.  But, this was an older car seat and I'm hoping to make it the 1 year this time.

  • Does this mean you could fit the snugride 35 into the baby trend jogging stroller? I know that stroller comes as a travel system, but we ended up opting for the FlipIt travel system so we have a snugride carseat. However, I'd like to start jogging in a month or two, but DD will still need to be in her infant seat so I need a jogging stroller that will hold an infant carrier....

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?...But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:26-27&33-34

Maybe!!  You might have to buy an attachment bar. You could check their website or call a baby store. Good luck.

Although I actually read that you shouldn't jog with an infant....something about their little bobbing head, even in the infant carrier.

You absolutely can.  This is why the tray has two cup holders.

  • I never tried the baby trend frame but did you try the Graco Metrolite stroller? We ended up getting that one because it was lightweight, you can fold it with one motion and it easily snaps open. It was the only one I could easily maneuver from my Honda Pilot as well.

Yep, all of the Gracos I pushed felt like I was pushing a shopping cart with a wonky wheel or two. They were not smooth at all. = (

I didn't see a response to this quote.  Were you trying to ask a question?  Don't want you to think I'm ignoring you!
