I began taking 1000 mg of met in July of last year. I adjusted well to my night time pill but haven't been able to adjust to my morning pill. After a month, I went up on my dosage and now I'm taking 1500 mg daily. I'm still doing alright with the pill I take at night and I'm slowly adjusting to my mid-day pill but the one I take with breakfast is still making me to sick.
I've followed my dr and pharm's advice for diet changes and have an appointment on the 27th with my dr but have any of you taken up to 6 months to adjust? Are there other options for meds that y'all are taking and like better? I plan on asking about the extended release when I see my dr and all these questions but I'm just wondering.

Re: Still not adjusting to metformin...
I take 1500 mg ER. I had side effects at first but they calmed after about a month. I also started to eat a cereal with lots of fiber and that helped my morning issues. I hope you get it figured out, I can't imagine 6 months like that. I was always aware of the location of the nearest bathroom and once I had to pull over and find a gas station when I was driving. Not fun!
