This has been going on since DS (now 6) was about 2. I don't even know if he wakes up when he does it, or if he wakes up then falls back asleep. I just find him covered in it. He will do this in the night for 2 or 3 nights a week. Then he stops for months...then has another week of night time vomiting. I'm soooo frustrated. I'm afraid he's going to aspirate. He doesn't have a fever or loose bowels. I have tried tracking foods, eliminating foods. He was on zantac (per his pediatrician) and has been to see a pediatric GI. GI placed him on an over the counter pro-biotic, and wants to do a scope if it occurs again. Labs are all within normal range. Nothing seems to work. I was hoping someone may have some ideas or suggestions?

Re: DS w/ ASD, vomiting at night....
Was the frequency or severity limited when he was on Zantac? Is he verbal enough to tell you if his throat or tummy hurts? What was the logic behind the probiotic? Are you keeping a food journal to see if its related to anything he's eating?
The only time I've heard of this was on the show mystery diagnosis. the little girl would wake up almost every night to vomit, have no recollection of the event, have no eating issues or any other complications. Turns out she was having seizures
I'm not trying to panic you, but if you've been through the gamut with ruling out GI issues maybe it wouldn't hurt to rule this out too.
