TTC After a Loss

My boobs have been turned off

Hi ladies,

I've been lurking for a while and now have a question that I still can't find an answer to. First off a little about me. I got my BFP on Oct. 12th and then lost the baby at 6 weeks on the 30th. I had a natural m/c and am now onto our third cycle (second TTC). Haven't started charting again.

My question: my body isn't behaving like it used to. I don't have symptoms of anything anymore. No AF cramps, not hormonal/emotional, but mainly my boobs are nonresponsive. They used to be the first thing that would tell me what's going on, AF/O/PG, but now I never feel anything from them. It's like they've turned off and shut down. Has anyone had a similar experience? Do they come back to life?

Re: My boobs have been turned off

  • I have the opposite experience. I never had a cramp a day in my life, that was until I delivered Aurora. Now I get cramps when AF is in town. I wish they'd turn back off!

Your body can take a few months to get back to normal. Sometimes women don't return to "normal" at all.

  • I can't really comment on whether things return to normal but i just wanted to say that my boobs are behaving the same way.  I used to have a lot of soreness around O and during my LP but since my M/C, I haven't had any pain, swelling, or added sensitivity at all.  I've had some "bonus" cramping that I didn't have before but no boob symptoms.

  • Mine have done something similar. I would also start to get tender boobs after ovulation, now it's hit or miss. Sometimes they hurt, and sometimes they don't. The pre-AF cramping is the same way. Sometimes it's awful, sometimes it feels like I pulled something in my back and sometimes there is nothing.

I think it's just figuring out your new normal.

  • I've had the opposite happen.  Mine never used to bother me at all and they've been achy for nearly two weeks now to the point of waking me up at night.  I asked my doctor about it on Friday while I was in for my annual, she said it can take awhile for our bodies to sort themselves out and its probably just a part of that.

  • I also think it takes awhile for things to go back to normal.  Before my m/c my boobs never hurt before AF, but after my m/c they were sore before AF for about 4-5 months.  Now, nothing again... bodies are crazy Tongue Tied
