No colustrum/leaking yet - am I normal?

Hey ladies,

I haven't had any colostrum/leaking yet. I'm a 1st time mom, almost 35 weeks (tomorrow). Am I normal? I am having irrational fears that I will be unable to breastfeed...thank you!

    I'm exactly the same -- 35 weeks on Tuesday and haven't leaked at all.  My boobs haven't gotten any bigger since I've been pregnant, either.  But everything I've read suggests that neither of those things should prevent successful breastfeeding.

    I never did with DD1 at all, and nursed for just over a year. I have had one day of leaking with this so far.

    I think one has no bearing on the other! Just be glad you aren't wearing nursing pads already :)

    I'm not leaking either.  I've read that some people leak and some don't and it's not an indication of being able to breastfeed successfully.

    No leakage here either.  Thankfully its not an indication of successful breastfeeding--so I will just relish in the fact that its one thing I don't have to worry about right now :)

    I've had VERY minimal, mainly that sometimes after I get out of the shower I can see a little bit of white material that came out of my nipples, sorry TMI.  But no need to actually wear a pad to cover or any visible staining on any of my bras.

    I leaked w/ my other two pregnancies - nothing at all w/ this one and I have to say it's great lol!

    I never once leaked with my first pregnancy and nursed for 11 months.  No leaking this time yet either, I think both leaking and not leaking are normal :)

    I haven't leaked either.  At least nothing noticeably liquid.  Sometimes I wonder if I'm having dry skin or dried colostrum or maybe a combination of the two.  The lack of leaking makes me worry, too ("is anything happening in there???"), but like the others have said, it's not supposed to actually mean anything.

    If anyone is taking progesterone (like I am) I recently found out that it can keep you from getting your milk in as long as you are taking it.

    3rd pregnancy here. Never had any leaking pre baby. I breastfed both boys each for 1 year so it wasn't due to lack of milk or problems

    With my 1st pregnancy I started leaking at 5mos and it didn't stop until I stopped nursing. With this pregnancy I haven't really started leaking yet and I'm 36wks now. Just cause you're not leaking doesn't mean its not there. Give your nipples a little squeeze. You might be surprised at what comes out.
