PP AF & BC question...

At 7weeks pp AF showed up today. I was supposed to start my first pack of  BC pills (old Rx, not mini pill) today but since AF showed up should I just wait until next Sunday or would it hurt anything to just start today?  I have been pumping but slowing down quite a bit so I'm not concerned about my supply dropping. Now that I'm back at work I've had to rearrange my pumping schedule and it's just not working out as well as I had hoped for so I will probably be done with BF within the next week.

    i'm  not 100% sure on this, but i think if you're bfing that you're not supposed to use regular bcp.  i think it has to be the mini pill.    but like i said, not 100% sure on that.

    I was thinking this too (at least that's what my OB said).But if you're going planning to stop pumping-I think it'd be okay to start the bcp's as long as you're not gonna feed the milk pumped once you start the pills to DS. I think the whole thing with bcp's and BF/pumping is excreting the hormones into the milk (but not for sure).

    I can't speak to the hormones/bcp part, but if breastfeeding weren't part of the equation.  I was told in the past that it is okay to start your pills on the same day as AF, so starting yesterday would have been fine.
