I remember my dr. saying she took Metformin through all of her pregnancies for PCOS, but DH has me doubting myself now...anyone else on Metformin? I see the dr. on Tuesday...should I keep taking it or stop taking it until then?

Re: XP - Anyone on Metformin for PCOS?
you are going to get different answers on this one as the studies aren't that conclusive either way.
my doctor had me stop taking metformin as soon as I found out i was pregnant. she doesn't think the studies are legit that says it could help with M/s and she thinks just like any other medicine, it should be avoided when pregnant.
can you just call your doctor today and see what they think?
I would call, but they're closed on Sunday and are going to be closed tomorrow. I guess I'll just keep taking it and see what she says on Tuesday. Thanks!
I have PCOS and have been taking Metformin. My OB wants to continue though the first trimester but discontinue use at the end of this month. She did not seem concern about the change in medication by discontinuing it. I think it really just helps us avoid the risk of miscarriage in the first trimester.
