I prefer the "Blogsite" set-up over a flash site. Jessica Claire uses as Blogsite and I loved how easy it was to navigate so when I was building mine that's the format I used. It saves a lot of time, too. I just have to edit one site and I'm done- no need to edit/update two websites!
And here are a few things I looked for when I was a bride looking to hire a photographer:
-Prices clearly listed on the website. If there was a "Contact me for a quote" in the place of a price, I didn't bother. Frankly I want to know from the get-go if you are within my budget, I don't need to email back and forth with you a dozen times to find out I can't even afford your packages.
-No music. My speakers were broken (the volume knob had broken off) and I'd exit out of a website if music started playing after loading. It's really just obnoxious. I don't mind music playing during a slideshow or something, but having music on the website I find annoys more people than not.
And like Morgan said- large images!
But these are all personal preferences. I'm sure some people love music and some don't mind having to contact the photog for price lists.
Re: photogs (again)
For a photographer?
Large images, easy to navigate, ability to submit an info request right from the website... hmmmm... that's about it haha
