3rd Trimester

Lainee needs a middle name! :)

I posted this on the name board, but thought you all may be able to help as well! We are naming our baby girl Lainee, (pronounced Laney), and our last name ends in a "ETZ" we are having so much trouble finding a middle name. I would prefer to keep the middle name starting with an "M" after my husband's Uncle Max. With that being said we kinda like the name Max for a middle name, but that goes against some things....the "X" and our last name kind of clashes and have you ever heard of a girl named Max that wasn't short for Maxine? Lainee Max sounds kinda cool but I would love some suggestions and help!!!!! TIA ladies!!!

  • Laney Max is adorable!  But if you're worried about the clash, what about something like Maya / Mia, or May / Maye?  Belle and Skye have a nice rhythm too.

  • we have Delaney that we call Laney and her middle name is Shea.  I think any one syllable name would sound great.  if you wanted it to start with M, how about Mae, or something longer like Madilyn, Maebelle, Miranda, Macie, or Maxine;)

Oooh I like Skye, so does DH! Glad you like Lainee Max, we are just not 100% sure about it, but leaning towards it. Thanks!!

  • My middle name is Elaine, and my parents called me Lainey for the first 2 years of my life ... until I turned into hell on wheels and my Dad said "uh, she's not a Laney anymore" -- in other words, that name was too sweet for me ... so my first name (which means "Warrior" in gaelic) suddenly fit.

Anyways, I always loved the name Lainey :)  I think it sounds great with Max - but only you can tell if it clashes too much with your last name.

I couldn't find any MAX other than Maxine, but there are a few Maz or Mac girl names that could work that have a similar sound ... like Mazelle, Machae, Makahlen (which I read to be like Madalyn with a K), Makenna, Makahla.
