mine came with me..there was only 1 other guy..he felt it was important to go so he can help anyway he can when i am breastfeeding ie: understanding possibly challenges with latching on, appropriate noises etc.
My husband came with me. I really wanted him to understand the process so he can support me in the best way possible. He said it wasn't the most thrilling thing he ever sat through, but he was glad that he went.
When we first got there, he was the only guy. Didn't bother him a bit. I think you'll be surprised though- we had few husbands turn up for our class.
I took a BFing class when pg with DS - DH came and every woman present also had their partner there. One of the things I loved was that my teacher talked to the guys about how important it is to have a support system while BFing and how that support system starts with them. It was helpful for DH to hear that BFing is HARD and will require his encouragement.
I registered for one and asked my husband to please come with me. I'd like him to understand the nitty-gritty and be able to support me. The hospital's description of the class said something like "partners strongly encouraged to attend." He doesn't want to be the only guy there, which I totally understand, but I don't think he will be.
We took our breastfeeding class on Thursday, and out of about 15 pregnant ladies, only 3 had partners with them. DH didn't mind, but I was disappointed in our class. The teacher didn't go over much information at all, besides the benefits of breastfeeding. I'll be purchasing a book or 2!
I went to the class yesterday and didn't even think about asking DH. He would have gone if I asked. There were like 10 other women and one had her husband. I did bring a lot of material home for him to read and our hospital has lactation consultions who work with you and educate you in the hospital after birth.

I made a deal with my husband. If at least 8 women were there and there were only 2 husbands, he could go play and pick me up later. We walked in and two husbands were already there and tons more came in. Over half the women had husbands so he stayed.
While there, I sat next to a high school couple that seemed very responsible. They packed their own lunch and had yummy flamin hot cheetos. On break my dh got me some cheetos too. It was worth it for me to have him there to fulfill my cravings.
DH came with me and I thought it was helpful for him to understand the basics so he would be able to understand what I will be doing and support me. Our class had ten couples and everyone of the dads attended the class.

I didn't think my dh would enjoy the class I attended....so I brought my bestfriend with me. There was about other couples there. Every mom had brought their husbands but me!! Everyone was looking at my friend and I like we were a happy "couple". We just played along and made the very boring class very interesting : ) So, yes, I'd bring your hubby!
In my class (which I found very helpful), everyone had their husbands except one other woman and me (mine had to work but otherwise would have come). I was glad I wasn't the only one!
In our child birthing class our teacher suggested that DH come to at least the first BF class and he won't be the only man there (at least for mine) so he is going to the first day of class...
I think it's good for DH to be there. He may wonder why but he needs to support you and understand what's going on. I wish my DH could have come with me, but he couldn't get off work in time. Still, at least he was exposed to a little but of it in the birthing class, just not in the dedicated BF class. At my class the majority of the women had a guy with them.

This exactly! I wanted him there for me and to be able to understand what and why so I wouldnt have to explain it to him later. But all the other women had their husbands there as well. All of our hospital classes are listed as 'couples'.
I brought mine with me, and there were several other dads present as well. He says he learned a lot of valuable information, and I'm glad that I don't have to explain any of it to him later.
