I thought I read somewhere that ovulation tests don't work on someone with PCOS or someone on Clomid, or that the results aren't reliable. Is this true?
With PCOS, the issue is that a woman might get several false surges of luteinizing hormone before getting a true surge (if at all).
With Clomid, my doctor actually had me use OPKs to check for a surge so that I'd get in for an ultrasound on time. If I didn't get a positive by day 11, I'd go in anyway.
I was told not to start OPKs too soon after the last pill, as Clomid can cause a false positive. I was told to wait at least 2 days. I took my last pill on the 7th day and on day 9 I had a very dark line, then it faded until day 15 when it showed a surge.

I am on Clomid and my RE said to use OPK to time the IUI. OPK have worked for me in the past.
I was also told that Clomid does not interfere with the over the counter pregnancy tests.

Good luck!
