I'm 22 weeks pregnant and wondering if any prenatal/childbirth classes are even necessary? I've had many friends who never went to any classes and are fine. I don't want to stress over looking for a class and locations as some are expensive and schedules and work is a conflict.
Re: Childbirth classes necessary?
It's not like you'll fail childbirth or will be denied childbirth if you don't take the class. TIC
- I would highly recommend taking a Breastfeeding class instead (if you plan on BF'ing that is) - your money is better spend there...what goes in must come out...BF'ing on the other hand is a bit trickier!

I insisted we take a child birth class and found out later that it was a complete waste of time and money. My body did what it needed to when it was time to deliver, and everything that they taught me went completely out the window!
If you haven't seen a birth before, I would recommend going on youtube and watching a regular vaginal, csection, and induction just so you are prepared for what is going to happen. Other than that, your body will do what it needs to on its own! Good luck with the pregnancy!
