    Thanks ladies.  Yep, S is 1 year old today - I can't believe it!  The time went by so fast.  I've been feeling pretty bad that I didn't put much planning/organizing into her party, but it has been a semi-sore point for the SO and me.  I (of course) want to go all out and he doesn't get celebrating holidays (long story).......

    In the end, we will be having two parties for her.  The first is tonight - just her, my SO and me.  I'm making a carrot cake for her.  She's had it before and loved it so I figured this was a winner.  I think I'll have some great photos from this one to share next week.  I don't think smashing the cake will be an issue for her.

    Then on Sunday, we're going to a local pizza place for family and friends (about 10- 12 people).  I didn't post it because we weren't sure if this one would go through due to budget issues.  We've invited my parents, her godfather and his family, some close friends, and one of her daycare providers and her family.  The restaurant is letting us bring in a homemade cake, so I'm going to attempt to decorate something special for that.  Wish me luck!

    I had to laugh when I saw Sydney's bday photos.  I had found the same hat for S, but my Party City only had the boy's version.  I was going to the other one today or tomorrow and see if they have the girl's version.  S picked out some "Hello Kitty" plates so I'm going to go and get a few of those things too.  SO will not be happy, but I think she needs SOME 1st birthday decorations - lol.
